With dad gone, the war of ownership between family members and non-family members began inside the company.
The power struggle was heightened thanks to the media. Now, the whole world is asking who is going to lead the company and who will sit as the new chairman.
Of course, Eugene won't let this opportunity slip away. We were expecting him to do so as to create a scandalous thing as soon as we arrived at manila, and he never disappoints. He came barging into the office with his smug and shameless face and started rattling nonsense things.
"A woman, especially a woman who married into the family cannot succeed as chairman of the company. It's ridiculous! Ano na lamang ang sasabihin ng mga kalabang kompanya? You cannot be chairman! I oppose to this idea!" Eugene Montesor smirked mockingly habang dinuduro si mommy who is sitting in the center of the office, on the seat of the chairman.
We're currently fixing all of the documents; papers of plans and projects that dad has left behind.
"Ha!" Tita sarcastically laughed upon hearing such nonsense. "An outsider dares to speak as much as to oppose. I don't know what ridiculous is now." I can feel her deep sarcasm and disgust.
Para bang nakikipaglaro ay nakakalokong ngumiti ang matanda na tila'y mas lalong nang-iinis at nanghahamon.
I
"Hindi mo kayang pagalawin ang buong kompanya dahil babae ka lang lalo na at napakalaki ng D'L! What D'L needs is a completely capable chairman para patakbohin ang kompanya and don't we agree that I am the most suitable person for that position?"Napangisi ako habang magkasalubong ang mga kilay. Hindi ko talaga matago ang pagkaasiwa ko sa matandang to kahit noon pa man.
We're not even done mourning dad's death yet and now we have to deal with this atrocious being who has no single sense in himself.
And he seeks the media's compassion for the late chairman's death? How funny does he think he is?
"You are not the rightful person to succeed. You're not even a family member and your shares are not equal to my mom." I stated.
The old man laughed as if he heard a joke. "The shares will have to speak for themselves then! Who cares if I am not family member? Ha!" He said, then he burst out of the room with so much confidence.
We were all left with a bitter taste in our mouths after that.
For the remaining days ay nanatili muna kami sa mansion namin sa manila para samahan sina mom ayosin ang mga naiwan ni dad sa kompanya.
Enrollment is nearing too but my mind is too crowded pa for me to worry about it, I have a much more important thing at hand than school right now and none of us are even yet in the recovering stages pa from our loss.
We're hardly grieving at the moment and the company needs attention at that. So, my mind is everywhere.
In the last days sa manila ay kapansinpansin ang katahimikan sa buong mansion. I got out of my room because of the ruckus I heard downstairs from the passing maid on my room kaya napalabas ako.
To my surprise, there was an unexpected visitor in the house.
My brows instantly furrowed as my eyes starts to sting due to excessive crying these past few days. The maids all shared a worried look dahil pinapasok nila ito when they were ordered not to let anyone in.
"Miss de Leon, pardon my disrespectful appearance right now but I have business to talk with you about." The man said.
"I have no interest in being in any involvement with a Montesor." I disinterestedly look at him from head-to-toe bago napabuntong hininga. "You may go." I turned my back to him.
