Chapter 26: Safe and unharmed

I woke up perfectly tucked in bed with axel sleeping on the chair beside the bed.

Ughh.

I feel so dizzy that I wanna throw up.

Nakapatay ang mga ilaw at tanging ang kunting liwanag ng buwan mula sa maliit na siwang ng kurtina ang nagsilbing liwanag sa buong kwarto.

Maingat akong tumayo sa pagkakahiga. I tried to recall what happened at the club and why am I suddenly here. All I know is I blocked out.

"Hey, you're up." Napatingin ako kay axel na nagising sa paggalaw ko, umayos siya ng upo at humarap saakin.

"How are we here? W-what happened?" I feel all puzzled up.

There was a complete serious silence before he spoke. He looked at me , it was as if he was so hesitant to tell me that he had to weigh it down first.

"You should take some more rest." He said instead at akmang tatayo na ng pigilan ko siya.

I looked at him with my forehead creased and my eyebrows colliding with each other. Why is he acting like this? It feels like he's hiding something from me and it made me feel uncomfortable.

"What. Happened?" I demanded with a tone of warning.

He gulped really hard before speaking. "They drugged you..." His voice trying to be as calm as they can be, clenching his jaw. "And I'm pressing charges."

Para akong nabuhasan ng napakalamig n a tubig sa sinabi niya.

"W-what? Who drugged who? A-anong sinasabi mo?"

"Those people you were with, they drugged you at dinala ka sa isang VIP room so they could... Hah. Do whatever they want from you." I could see raw rage in his eyes despite the darkness of the night.

His chest started to move up and down and fast. I couldn't believe what was coming out of his mouth. Those people? My colleagues?

"They drugged me? H-how could they—" para akong nanghihina habang ipinoproseso ang mga sinabi niya. My lips is shaking.

I feel like there's a big lump in throat. I knew they didn't really treated me as a friend, they only showed interest on the fact that I was rich and Kio and I were dating back then.

But I never expected they would do something such as drugging me and taking advantage of me while I was unconscious.

"W-where are they now?"

"They're all at the precinct."

"What?! Did you already pressed charges?!"

Nagsalubong ang mga kilay niya. "What did you expect, rai? Let them all go?"

"Don't press charges without my knowledge!"

No matter how serious the circumstances are, I can't just press charges unless I want to announce this scandal to the media!

My family has a name to protect, I can't just think of things rashly and impulsively! If I press charges now, reporters that desperately wants to get a scoop of a big scandal like this will definitely get crazy.

Moreover, D'L will be linked to the issue and the possibility to link the company to other scandalous issues is limitless. The company will have to face a serious dropping of stocks.

I mustn't let this happen. As a heiress of D'L, I must always act and decide according to what keeps the company safe.

"Drop the charges."

"What? Rai, they drugged you with the tempt to harass you." I know what he feels but that doesn't compare to what I am feeling right now.
