n. alphaxomega verse and no, mu qing isn't the omega :)

━━━━━━━━━━━━

Feng Xin was one of those upper court martial gods that were an alpha. A natural occurence for someone like him that stands as a god of a war.

He's an alpha that protects the southeast. He wields the mighty fengshen as his spiritual weapon. Fortunately, it wasn't given by the former emperor. He had lead centuries of war, almost all, he left the arena victorious.

He's an alpha that had already went through his second heavenly calamity. He's one of the major martial gods that people prays to, that people depend on for protection.

And maybe for a little spice on the bed as well for those women that prays for Ju Yang instead of Nan Yang.

That's beside the point. The point is, Feng Xin is an alpha. He's an alpha in the upper court, served under two emperors. Won thousands if not a million wars. Fought two, if not three, devastations and was still able to face the next day with a smug look.

He's an alpha. A strong, capable, and respectable alpha.

Or so what people thought.

"Oi." He gets a smack on the back of his head. "Stop daydreaming."

He scowls, turning to glare at the other god as he flicks his hand that held his bow. "We're on a break aren't we? I'm allowed to daydream."

Mu Qing scoffs, exasperated. "Keep daydreaming with that beast on our tail, and you'll get your head bitten off. If you so wanted to be decapitated you could've just told me and I would have had sliced your head off your body centuries ago." He moves to stand on the entrance of the cave where they had entered, the barrier barely seen. They had to create the barrier together, what with both their depleting spiritual energy, it was difficult to even create a distance shortening array.

"What's your problem with me?" Feng Xin frowns. Yes, he's used to such treatment, but he thought they were on a... less animosity kind of terms. "Seriously, what the fuck."

"I could give you a hell of a list of what's the problem with you." Mu Qing tilts his head ever so slightly, his scent turning a wild bitter in Feng Xin's nose. "Your incapability of handling a mission by yourself. Your stupidity. Your toxic habit of jumping quick to conclusions - in fact, maybe I don't even need a list. Maybe it's just you, breathing and alive. Your existence is a problem in itself."

"Wow. I'm flattered, Xuan Zhen." Feng Xin couldn't help but sneer, his own scent turning dark and thick. "I never knew someone would think so ill about their friend. But then again, it is you. I don't know why I'm surprised."

"If I wanted you dead, you would've died first before Shi Wudu." Mu Qing rolls his eyes, eyes following something outside the cave. "I'm a scheming man, aren't I, Nan Yang? Mind similar to that of a jealous concubine in a harem?"

Feng Xin doesn't know when he even said such words. He knew it was him that said it - but he doesn't understand why he's being held accountable for what he did maybe a hundred years ago. They've all grewn pass their past, didn't they? Xie Lian no longer fears White Faced Calamity, Mu Qing doesn't get irritated by the sight of a broom or any mentions of his servant days, and Feng Xin's slowly crawling out of his fear in women.

But Mu Qing was still Mu Qing. Mu Qing that holds a grudge against someone that did so much as breath too near him.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Feng Xin sighs. The silverette's bitter scent slowly changed into a mixture of something the archer couldn't decipher.
