"What are you doing?"

Xiu Liang gasped in surprise, tensing as he turned around in horror, "General Xuan Zhen!" He exclaims, using his robes to cover the small glowing orb behind him. "What.. What are you doing here? It's night-"

"I'm in charge of security this month, I'm securing the area. What are you doing here Lord Xiu Liang?" The silverette crossed his arms, arching his brow expectantly.

Xiu Liang internally sighed as he chewed on his lip nervously. In all honesty, he would've rather be caught by any Gods but Mu Qing, anyone but him. It was always so easy for him to lie infront of any other Gods, even if it was Ling Wen herself. But under the harsh gaze of the silverette with years of practice, nothing could get pass him, his doubts were always right. So, lying now would've been a waste of saliva and probably get him in more trouble, "I was doing work, General." He retorts, slowly pulling the glowing orb inside his robes not before the obsidian gaze caught a glimpse of it.

"What's that?" Oh fuck, he saw. "Lord Xiu Liang, are you-"

"It's nothing harmful I promise!" Xiu Liang cried helplessly. Completely giving up before the martial God even thinks of something worse - for example, another raging God -, "It's not.. harmful."

Mu Qing rolled his eyes, stepping forward as he uncrossed his arms, "Then what the fuck is it?"

Xiu Liang nibbled on his lip harder, afraid to draw blood, he let go of his swollen lip, "It's something that I could.. or hope that I can help with.."

"For what?"

He resisted the urge to flinch at the voice, "For.. saving lives?"

"..."

Xiu Liang took the sudden distraction to flee as he hastily stepped back, "Well! I best be off now, General Xuan Zhen!" By all means, he would like to be swallowed by the earth by now.

"Lord Xiu Liang." But of course, things doesn't get his way. Disrespecting a senior God is equivalent to disrespecting the Emperor. If he dares to even walk away without acknowledging Mu Qing right now, he would be in a very big trouble.

"General Xuan Zhen, I-"

"It's a time travelling orb, General." Xiu Liang tilted his head, eyes bulging in both surprise and horror when he saw who it was. Mentally cursing at himself and being so stupid as to why he decided to finish the orb in the middle of the night without considering the fact which martial God was in charge of security. "Lord Xiu Liang wishes to save lives."

"Oh?" Mu Qing raised his brow higher, voice differing from his eyes. He looked incredibly uninterested yet sounded amused all at the same time. "And which life are you willing to sacrifice your spiritual energy for, Lord Xiu Liang?"

Xiu Liang shifted uncomfortably under their gaze. One so cold he could freeze and another so worried he could melt. He contemplated whether he say what he wants to say and do. The topic of saving life was after all, a very sensitive subject for the silverette, "General Ming Guang and General.. Nan Yang." His voice got quieter in the end, wishing for the man beside him to just dig up a hole using his spiritual device and let the ground of the Heavens to cage him.

Mu Qing unnoticeably tensed at the mention of the dead Co-Generals, narrowing his eyes in complete doubt, "To how are you going to "save" these lives?" He questions, crossing his arms over his chest again as he glanced at Lord Earth Master before returning the gaze back to the now slightly trembling civil God.

He wasn't even aware he was glaring so hard.

"By going back in time to change things..?" Xiu Liang trails off. Sure, it sounded dumb. But as the time goes by, knowledge extends to more ranges and edges they never even thought of it reaching. Then he pulled out the glowing orb, fully in view infront of the two. "It's my biggest invention yet. I had already tried it a few times over this months and it definitely worked." He explained, pleased with himself as he eyed the floating orb in satisfaction. "But.. I haven't tried more than a day before."
