Feng Xin inhales sharply upon waking up. Chest tight, and head pounding with pain he hadn't felt in a very long time. He pants, glancing around to see nothing but darkness. Swallowing every spot he tries to stare at.
He wonders where he is. What had happened to him? He doesn't know, wasn't sure. His mind was thrown in disarray, not remembering what occured before he woke up.
Somehow, he doesn't feel nor hear alarm bells going around in his head.
He looks up, unsurprised to see black as well. Pressing two fingers on his temple, he curses internally once he doesn't feel even a blink of his core or signal from the communication array. Feeling lightheaded, he stands up. Only now realizing he'd been laying on water, hearing it burble under his boots where he steps around to get used to his legs once more.
His robes weren't wet. He shakes the eerie feeling off as he began to stride forth, unknown where his destination would be so long as he gets out of this place.
However, with how long and how much he had been walking, this place seemed to be endless. Not a normal cave created for immortals like him.
A creeping feel starts to wash over him. Feng Xin tries to wrack his mind for some sort of clue, or thing, or anything his clearing mind would offer, whipping his head side to side for any kind of light. A speck even. Some kind of hope, that amidst this darkness, it was something he could leave behind.
He stops. There was none. He shakes his head, refusing to feel defeat just in a mere li. Who knows how long he must have been here, then Xie Lian would have been looking for him now. And with Hua Cheng his husband, there were more chances of him being found.
That doesn't help the way Feng Xin starts to get nervous. Choosing a different direction to go to instead, he physically flinches as he steps on something that immediately cracked and broke into pieces by the force of his boot, as if it was some kind of bone.
He steps back, considering his options, he kneels down and picks a piece once his eyes got close enough to see a blurry silhouette.
The darkness didn't help. In fact, even if he had lifted it up, he doesn't see what it was.
But he had felt this kind of thing so much in his life as a god, he could practically describe it with ease.
And it is a bone. It was a piece of a skull of a human being.
He takes a sharp breath, gently putting the bone back and silently praying good for the one who owns it. Standing up, he turns around instead, already not wanting go further in that direction.
Though, not a long distance from the other, he steps on another bone. He doesn't even try to decipher which part of it as he curses out loud, praying for this one as well as he stops in his tracks. Putting a hand on his hip and brushing a hand through his hair, he sighs helplessly.
"Fuck." He mutters, glancing down right at his chest, specifically at the spot where his heart was to see a hole. A stab wound perhaps, caused by a spiritual sword of a god he was uncertain that did it. It doesn't hurt, but it doesn't look like it's healing either.
He pulls his outer robe more to hide the nasty wound.
"Fuck." He repeats, as he glances around once more and clenching his one hand into a fist when there wasn't much difference. "Alright, what the fuck is going on." Receiving no answer, he shakes his head. There was probably no one here, and if there was, it probably chooses to be silently stalking his every move than speak.
