Parents tends to ask nonsense questions to their children to poke fun.

"Which one of us would you choose?"

"It's me, right? You had always loved me more, right?"

"No, no. Choose me, you've been adoring me more haven't you? It's obviously me."

Fu Yao blinks in confusion, Nan Feng broke into a cry from frustration.

Mu Qing laughed. From joy in seeing their adoptive child crying and another adoptive child just standing stiffly, or from amusement in the reaction he mostly expected. "It's alright, it's alright. Nan Feng, come here."

"Well, someone crying from either the two was most likely." Feng Xin sighs helplessly, smiling as he scoops Fu Yao in his arms that continued to lick his ice cream upon seeing they no longer needed to answer the question. "Nan Feng, your ice cream will melt."

Fu Yao responds briefly, "I can eat it."

That seems to trigger the other more, as he clutched the cup of ice cream in his hands and cried even more hysterically. Mu Qing couldn't help but chuckle again, all while wiping his tears with a napkin. Gentle and soft. "He won't eat it, he won't eat it. Calm down now, ah? It will melt, you don't like watery ice cream don't you?"

Nan Feng shakes his head, and in the middle of sobbing, he shakily shoves the spoon inside his mouth. Then lets go and continues to cry, leaving the spoon bitten between his teeth and the two adults hopelessly glancing at each other.

"Who's idea was it to ask that question, again?" Feng Xin frowns, trying to pull out the spoon only for the child to bite it harder. "Nan Feng."

"Let him." Mu Qing uses his own sleeve to wipe his tears away, and takes the ice cream from his hands. "I'm putting this in the trash if you don't stop crying."

"A-A'd-die-" Nan Feng makes grabby hands, his sobs reducing to just harsh breaths and sniffing. "B-ba-bad-"

"Yes, I'm bad. Now, stop crying." Once the child had quieted down, the silverette gives back the cup of ice cream and Nan Feng immediately finishes it all in a blink before Fu Yao could even have his fourth scoop in. "You're going to get a brain freeze."

"Mm-mm!" Nan Feng shakes his head frantically, returning to his smiling face as quick as he cried. "Let's go home! Let's go home! I want to play that new toy!"

"You're so loud." Fu Yao attempts to kick his leg, and Feng Xin had fortunately moved further away before his shoe can hit his knee. "Stop screaming!"

"You're screaming!"

"No, you are!"

"You are!"

"You're both screaming." Feng Xin sighs, bouncing Fu Yao up and down in the air for a few times. "Let's go home!"

"Children, children." Mu Qing unlocks the car, putting Nan Feng on the baby chair and fixing his seatbelt as Feng Xin opens the door to the other side and does the same. "Fu Yao, seatbelt."
