i tried to do keithtober like, twice. and then i posted an unfinished day one for his birthday one time. and only now am i actually finished a SINGLE one of my intended keithtober pieces. but it's here, at least! i experimented with rendering a lot on this one and couldn't decide on a color palette, so i've got three versions of it, but i do like how it turned out.this is my original palette, but i later wanted it more pink for some reason, and so i also have a brighter version.
i rendered the larger keith without the background at one point, bc the original secondary sketch also had realistic proportions and i just couldn't figure out the composition, so i was thinking of ditching it. i really hope i can learn to imitate the style faster, bc these would make really sick bust commissions! i'm always self-conscious about just having my characters floating on solid backgrounds, but with this dramatic highlighting i almost think a background would be overkill.
one day i won't be terrified of colors and contrast anymore, lol. at the moment i just need to stop spending 30+ hours on every piece.
