ok, so!! october is my son keith's birthday month. i was gonna use all the official inktober prompts last year and make them all keith-themed so i could celebrate both occasions. i didn't get around to it, of course, but wanted to try again this year without putting any pressure on myself to do every single day or get them turned in on time. i also thought it would make sense to finish the piece of him i've been working on for a while. i've apparently managed to do a bit of both!now, to clarify, i did not use the inktober prompts bc the guy behind that turned out to be shitty. i instead opted for doing simple pieces in the look and feel of the inktober drawings people usually do while using keithtober prompts. i've been using a list by fauxghosts. i am obviously very late on getting started, but i have a preview for you today!
The first prompt is "artist", so here we have Keith attempting to draw a Lance. I plan to flesh the drawings out a little bit more, lining them in black and shading them in a bit. Considering how quickly I managed to get it done (compared to my usual rate), I think it's turning out nicely! I do wish I could tweak his embarrassed expression a bit more, though. I tend to get so focused on making sure it looks "right" that I lose a bit of expressiveness and the drawing turns out stiff.
