I've been drawing a lot recently, mostly because, as mentioned before, I need to make more money and hope to do so with some freelance art. I've started with a couple of adoptables and a YCH, but as it turns out trying to advertise can bring other forms of business! Someone was curious about my other work after seeing it in so many groups, took a browse through my gallery, liked my avatar chibi, and wanted to know if I could draw a couple of pieces of one of their characters in a similar style. I've been trying to make some sketchy bases of different poses in that style, since if at least one person liked it, I could turn it into a YCH kinda thing. To do that I had to trace over the drawing. In doing so, I figured out what was bugging me about it.There are basically no thighs in the above drawing. My hands are on what appear to be my hips, and based on the way my legs taper in, my knees SHOULD be right towards the bottom of the skirt... but then, where are my thighs?! The upper half is far too long compared to the lower half. Also, my necklace is backwards?? I know crescent moons can technically face either way, but in jewelry it's usually the other way around. I decided to tweak what was wrong with the drawing and make a base out of that, and then I decided to redraw my avatar using the new base as an example of what my finished products would look like. I also decided to color the lineart this time while I was at it, as that's normally kind of a trademark of mine.
TADA!!! It's much better now!! I still have to load the transparent one into Medibang and add the little shadow, but the figure is done. If I could fix anything I'd actually make it wider at the waist area. I also wondered if the thighs are too chubby, but... MY thighs are chubby, so. I will soon finish a series of bases exclusively for chubby/curvy girls.
