I like to give my friends gifts, but typically either A) don't have money or B) don't know what to buy them.Because of this, I always draw something for my best friend, and then assemble the drawings onto a fancy card. I generally do this for birthdays and for Christmas.
The OTP themed Christmas Card
(We share a few OTPs, such as RinHaru.) One year's card had a shipping theme going on. The excuse was a "share the holidays with your loved ones" theme. The above, while simple-looking enough, was a nightmare to draw... Christmas sweaters. Never again. The background is just an edited photo.
Another edited photo background, and my gal's first ever gay ship, NaruSasu (she's very strict/picky about it being NaruSasu and not SasuNaru). Funny thing: Gay ships are technically responsible for our current friendship. True story.
Also the random doodle for the inside of the card... Her favorite "nobody else ships this" ship, Conniemin (Attack on Titan's Connie and Armin).
ACNL Birthday
My friend actually bought me my 3DS and copy of ACNL, and we bonded over that quite a bit as she helped me establish my town and collect my favorite villagers. That year, I made her birthday card ACNL themed. Our mayors are included here with her favorite villagers (her all time favorite is actually Dizzy).
I fit the rest of her faves by way of "party snapshots" I put inside the card. Here she and Blanche are, swooning over that suave Kyle (who became a favorite of mine once I met him in her village).
Here she is with Papi and Poppy. We realized while playing that their names are pronounced the same way, and so I made her immediately take out her megaphone and see which one would respond. It's always Poppy.
My personal favorite part of the card is this "selfie" taken by me and my main boy, Stitches. Bianca and Midge and Julian are trying to squeeze into the frame.
Do you make or draw your own cards and gifts for others? What kinds?
