“Mama, papasok na po ako!” sigaw ko sa sala. Mom was in the kitchen still talking to dad. Narinig ko ang oo niya kaya agad akong lumabas.
The day I met Leo solved all my worries. He was just really tired with all the things thrown at him. I just really overthink and would gave meaning to things that’s not even need thinking. Leo brought me home after what happened in his car. Nahihiya pa ako kapag naiisip kong tinulugan ko lang siya pagkatapos ng ginawa namin and that he have to wait for me para magising. Maybe overthinking and stress, plus the thing we did made me exhausted to the highest level kaya hindi ko na napigilan ang tulog. Leo parked outside our apartment and waited for me to wake up. He didn’t wake me up kasi mahimbing daw ang tulog ko.
I was smiling as I walked inside the campus. I feel alive and back to track. Magaan na ulit ang pakiramdam ko at nagagawa ko na lahat ng requirements ko. Naka pag-advance study pa ako.
“Hey, Reany!” bati ng isang schoolmate ko. I gave her a smile and just continued walking. I thought this day would not be ruined not until I saw Karina marching towards me with her usual alipures.
It still pisses me off every time I see her but I don’t want her to see me affected kaya I just act nonchalant as she walks where I'm at.
“You seem happy… I wonder why?” sarkastic niyang tanong. Her brow raised a bit and there was an evil smile printed on her face.
I flushed her a sarcastic smile and arched a brow. “And why do care? Bored kana ba at ako na naman ang sadya mo?” I crossed my arms against my chest and stared at her unaffected. Akala ko, mawawala ang ngisi niya but it remained on her face.
Lawla and Maddie snorted kaya napatingin ako sa kanila. They too have these evil smile na hindi ko alam kung bakit. But then, why would I care?
May mga nakakakita sa amin but they didn’t bother interrupting us. Sanay na siguro sila dati pa. What changed though is that no one side with Karina. Before, they would encourage her but now, wala silang kinakampihan. At alam kong dahil kay Leo yon. Wala nang nambubully sa amin.
Pinanliitan ko siya ng mata nang umabante siya sa akin. “Could you still remember my threat?… Just be careful cause I’m not kidding when I say that. I’ll make sure everything you have will be mine!” Tumawa siya saka tinapik ako sa balikat.
I felt my heart sank dahil hindi ko man aminin, I’m scared. Dati wala naman akong bagay na mawawala but now I have. Nitong mga nakaraan lang, akala ko I lost it. When I thought I lost him. I just hope Karina means something other than him but then.... I don’t have things that interest her except for Leo, right? Kahit takot, I flushed her a smile as if what she just said didn’t affect me.
“Karina, we have to go. We still need to welcome that new girl, Eleanor,” biglang sabat ni Lawla kay Karina.
“Ohh, right!” nakangising sagot ni Karina habang nakatitig sa akin. Mabuti na lang at umalis din sila.
The confidence I gained is slowly leaving me. Kinalma ko ang sarili at pilit itinatatak sa utak ko na baka iba ang mini-mean ni Karina na aagawin sa akin. Hindi rin naman magpapaagaw sa tingin ko si Leo dahil alam kung loyal siya. Hindi ko alam ilang minuto akong nakatayo lang sa pwestong yon. Nawala lang ako sa pag-iisip ng marinig ko ang maraming bumabatis sa gilid ko.
“Hi… you’re so pretty!” bati ng isang babae.
“You’re welcome in our group,” sabi pa ng ilan. I turned to that person who's making commotions at napanganga na lang ako dito. What the hell? Is she busted?
Diretso ang lakad niya papunta sa akin. Iniignore lang ang mga taong bumabati sa kanya.
“What is this? You’re busted?” takang tanong ko. She just laughed ignoring my question.
