"Do you have any idea how much I missed you?" Stevie pulled Drusilla in for the millionth time that day, completely overjoyed with her presence. "As I said, it has been a long year."

"I know. I just didn't think I would love England so much," she grinned.

"I'm sure James had something to with that," she smirked.

"Well, yeah... But then also the fact that I know I wasn't completely stranded if things didn't work out overall. Y'know, if I ended up hating the school, Christine had told me I could go and stay with her."

"I know, every day she would call me to assure me that you had a place to stay between John and herself. If Mick was in England, he'd have done the same. But he just bought the property out in Hawaii, so that didn't really help you," she smirked.

"Yeah, and overall, I'm grateful... I love England and I think I... I think I really love James."

"Sending you abroad was the hardest thing for me to do, but you seemed to have come back with the ultimate package deal. A boyfriend and an education."

She chuckled.

Kissing her head, she rubbed her arm. "Anyway, how is Chris? I haven't talked to her much lately."

"She's good. She too has a new boyfriend..." she smirked. "Eh, I don't think he's really her boyfriend... She's got a playmate for the time being though."

She laughed in return. "Yeah, Chris isn't much into dating..."

"Neither are you and look how that turned out," she smirked. "You have a Charles..."

"Yeah... Charles is nice," she simply assured.

"Do you love him, mommy? Like for real? Do you love him?" she asked, trying to read her mother.

She wondered because only months after her absence, she had heard about Charles and shortly after that, she would hear her mom mostly repeat back that she loved him, almost to satisfy him it seemed and from her nineteen year old perspective: somebody who was madly in love with her boyfriend, she genuinely wanted to know.

"I love him, but I'll be honest, I don't think I'm in love with him. He's a nice guy and he's been very nice to us and very welcoming of you girls... He hasn't even met you yet, and he adores you."

"He is boring as hell, but I trust your opinion. I know you'd probably rather be alone than be with an idiot... So, I assume he's genuinely as good as you say. I'm on your side, I just wanted to know how you felt. I feel like even when we've been on the phone, it's not as intimate as when we talk in person. I've missed our girl talk."

"I've missed it too, my love. Very much..." she reeled her in one more time in order to hug her and kiss her head.

"Okay!" Melinda soon walked in, wearing her wedding dress. "What do you think?"

"How does it feel?" Stevie wondered, walking closer to approach her child.

Drusilla arched her brow, realizing that their mother seemed completely numb to the dress.

The blonde had seen her in the dress way too many times to count that she was saving her thoughts and tears for the wedding; her main concern was that it needed to be altered or not and by the look of it, it didn't and that alone was by the Grace of God since the girl had so many ideas and it really was her way or the highway.

"It feels good," she smoothed her hands over her stomach, feeling the material and taking in her figure in the long mirror. "It feels perfect actually."

"Even better. Let's go settle it back in the garment bag and then we'll head to our nail appointments. I have a few more more calls to make after that, so let's hurry."
