Walking through the door that evening, Stevie led Lindsey in only because he was groggy.

"Are you sure you're okay... Honey, you fell asleep on the way here, in the car..." she pointed out, taking his blazer off.

"I'm fine... With all the excitement... Y'know, everything...?" he paused. "I've never put more work into anything and trying to be you is exhausting."

"Being you is no walk in the park either..." she sighed. "It's safe to say we have been living in oblivion all these years... Even when we were together."

He kind of nodded.

"I'm sorry I got bitchy earlier on... It was wrong and I shouldn't have acted out like that..."

"There's a lot of stress..."

"No, now don't try to give me the benefit of the doubt," she waved her hand, unaccepting of the idea. "It's just crazy to me how hard it is to stay quiet in situations the way you do... There's this calmness in you that didn't allow for me to open my mouth to say what I wanted to say... Even when the girls were fighting. How do you just sit and analyze like that?"

He smirked. "I guess I'm just used to you handling it all the time... I've always been a quiet introvert and you've always been the social butterfly... Since high school, so the only time I ever have to come out of my shell is when I'm trying to impress you or the kids."

"Why would you need to impress me?" she chuckled.

"So you don't wanna kill me..."

She kind of laughed and rolled her eyes while crossing her arms. "I say it out of love... You drive me crazy, Lindsey. Maybe in the best possible way. I don't know what my life would be without you in it, but I couldn't imagine a life not knowing you in some form."

"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" he smirked.

"That we're soulmates...?"

"Mhmm..."

"Then, yes... Perhaps, we are. Member that creepy lady that lived a few blocks down from the coffee plant?"

"The old lady with the crows on her balcony?" he lifted a brow.

"In retrospect, she was old to us since we were young but the woman was probably in her forties..." she added as a woman in her late forties.

"Steph, you're telling me a story... Please, don't be offended by your age. The lady was creepy, you're not... Continue on..."

"Oh, yeah, well... One night when I was out and about, bringing dinner on the way... I decided to stop in and get a reading. I was just curious because I knew that's what she did and I had a friend also go see her for that."

He nodded, easily following along.

"We were so caught up in our music and everything, writing and just creating... I knew in my gut we were gonna make it but I wanted reassurance... And she gave that to me. I knew an opportunity would come because she said it was going to and like, it took some time but Fleetwood Mac happened to us... Either way, the point is, there was so much going on and she also mentioned that our souls have be entwined for over two-thousand lifetimes..."

"I believe it..."

"Crazy to think about, but we are very much in a way entwined, I'd say... We just have this connection about us that is undeniable. Even when we're not speaking."

"I agree... Like I said, I believe it. It's not hard to believe at all... I'm sure your boyfriend and my wife could write a book..." he joked.

Maybe we were together in another life... Maybe we are together in a parallel universe... she thought. She then agreed with a small smirk. "I'm gonna make some tea... Want some?"
