Waking up that morning, Lindsey took a breath in and he glanced around the room, finding comfort in the fact that he was in his old, luxurious bed that he shared with his ex-wife.
Quickly, he shifted over onto his side and he realized that he was hot and so he kicked the blanket off.
Suddenly, he opened his eyes and he took a double take at the fact that he was in his old room. Wait a minute... I didn't drink that much last night, he thought. Nor did I stay the night... How could I when Stevie and I got into a big fight? Ugh... Stevie, Stevie, Stevie... Stephanie, you drive me crazy. He further pressed his face into his pillow and inhaled, realizing that it smelled like her. After caressing the pillow for a moment longer, he opened his eyes again and realized that he wasn't on the side he typically slept when he did sleep over. Wait... Something's weird. Unless I'm dead and went to heaven... No, no, no... I went home. I remember. Lauren and Wren were sleeping and I went to my studio. I was sleeping on the couch and...
Soon, Drusilla passed by her mom's room and she smiled since she could see her awake through the crack of the door. "Morning, mom."
Lindsey had assumed that his wife was in bed next to him, but she didn't respond. "Babe?" he moved his foot back to nudge her, but nobody was there and the sound of his voice threw him off.
                              "What's up?" Drusilla asked.
"What?" he responded, once again stunned by the raspiness of his voice; it wasn't his voice.
"You just said babe..." she paused. "And didn't you hear me? I said good morning... Are you hungover or something?" she smirked and came in further. "Mom, are you okay?"
"What the fuck?" he mumbled, stunned by his voice and even more stunned when he looked down at his silk pajamas. But they weren't his, they were definitely his ex-wife's and it explained why he was burning up. He then decided to reach up and he felt the soft strands that typically cascaded down her back and instantly, the prongs to some rings he didn't even feel on his fingers till they got stuck in the hair.
"You know, I knew Mel was gonna cause you a stroke or something. She's hungover as shit, I should go and wake her," she plastered her hand to her hip. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Huh?" he looked up at the girl, panicking internally when he realized she was still talking to him.
                              "Mom? I'm worried," Drusilla assured.
"No, don't... Look, uh..." he stuttered. "Let me just get ready and... Where's James?"
"We're gonna head out. But let me make you some coffee, that way you can rest..." she moved out of the room.
"What the hell is happening?" he stood up and he made his way to the bathroom that was luckily inside the bedroom. He then enclosed himself and he took a look at himself in the mirror and all he could see was his ex-wife. "I'm dreaming, right--" He stopped when he realized her lips were moving when he spoke.
He'd had millions of dreams about Stevie that looking in the mirror to see her, it wasn't odd, but as soon as he saw that her lips were moving as though she were lip syncing to his words, he was taken aback.
Rubbing his eyes, he shut his eyes tight and then opened them. "God, I can only imagine where Stevie is..." he sighed. "Somehow this is gonna be my fault," he rolled his eyes as he stepped out of the bathroom and glanced into the bedroom. Looking down at her night attire, he arched his brow unsure of what to make of what was happenening. Bringing a hand to her stomach, he felt nauseated, something that didn't typically happen to him, but he was making exceptions considering there were bigger fish to fry.
