As time was flying by, Lindsey stayed up in Stevie's bedroom, texting with his wife---having a full-blown argument with her over the situation with Wren.
Stevie minded her own business only because she didn't want to get involved or grab any attention from their kids especially since they still hadn't swapped bodies back and Wren was back and forth between being stuck by her "father's" side and sisters' sides. She wasn't trying to be obvious.
After some time stalling, Lindsey finally looked at the time, gave up on not only Lauren, but the effort it took to type with Stevie's long nails, and came out of the bedroom to join everybody.
By that point almost everybody was ready to leave because Drusilla had helped her sister get ready and she even loaned her younger sister a dress and some makeup for the evening.
It wasn't completely out of Stevie's character to be locked in her room for long amounts of time, so it really saved Lindsey any trouble of explaining "her" actions, although everybody was rather occupied with their own tasks in getting ready for the wedding.
"Hon?" he cleared his throat, her soft doe eyes melted into what would be his own.
Once again, although they were looking at their own reflections through each other's eyes, they could still tell how they were feeling.
The softness Stevie's face displayed, it was frustration and finally accepting defeat. She knew it well.
"Hm?" she hummed, able to tell he didn't have it in him to keep up with such charades even if they desperately needed to.
"Here's your phone..." he mumbled, giving her his since they were still playing the part of course.
"Thanks... Did you...? Did you take care of things?" she grasped it.
"She's on her way home... I dunno when she'll be here but she said she was going to get the next plane she could get," he whispered. "And Karen called. She's been at the airport, Charles' flight got further delayed and he's not sure if he'll be in time for the ceremony..."
Stevie arched her brow and she thought nothing more than that being a one and only positive to their day. "Luck seems to be on our side..."
"Yeah..." he also arched his brow, thinking things over.
There were a lot of good things happening for the sake of their situation; their daughters had seemed to make peace with each other, all three girls were together as they had wanted, Charles wasn't there yet, Lauren either and best of all, nobody had even suspected Stevie and Lindsey.
The only person to think things were slightly off was Drusilla and all she thought was that her parents were having an affair. And she wasn't that far off the beaten track only because they were definitely bonding on another level.
And even after everything, how well things had seemed to be going, they just couldn't understand what was needed in order to swap them back into their rightful bodies. What more needed to be done when it seemed they had a very good understanding of each other.
"Hey, mom?" Drusilla approached the blonde.
"Yeah, sweetheart?" Lindsey looked over, definitely used to his ex-wife's constant cue.
In all the years of being a father, he had never heard his girls call him repeatedly as they did their mother. And it was constant.
"You look adorable, baby..." he thought to add.
Stevie also looked over, smiling at how truly adorable she did look although she was really taken by all the jewelry that was definitely from her personal collection between the pyramid necklace, the moon and feather earrings.
