When the next day arrived, things would actually be at a much slower pace than the day before mostly because it was.
The wedding was less than a week away and most of the time it was about last touches and final scrambling, making sure things were in order to rock and roll that Friday before sending their child off to spend her honeymoon away. It was just taxing.
Drusilla came down the stairs wearing a fluffy cream colored robe over her black, cotton pajama set and long socks on her feet.
The girl had short, dark brunette hair although it wasn't too short, its tips were just barely passed her shoulders; it was thick and straight. She typically wore it with a side part, halfway up-halfway down, or with the front smoothed back and clipped.
That morning, it showed that she did nothing to it before going to bed as it was frizzy with a small claw clip barely hanging on to her strands.
"Well, good morning, my dear," Stevie grinned, still sipping on her coffee as she too had slept well into the noon. "Or, good afternoon."
"Morning, afternoon..." she walked over and she hugged her from behind---watching her mother scan the newspaper. "How are you doing?" she walked over to the coffee maker to pour herself a mug.
"Good. Is James coming down? I can make breakfast..."
"No, relax. This is his first time to California. I wanna take him to breakfast and show him around before we go off to party," she smirked and came over to take a seat.
"Because of that, today will be much more easy considering you girls will be out and about."
"Yeah... One thing I miss about England; I could drink at my age, James for that matter. I'd love to get my sister drunk---she's a lot more fun that way."
"Well, you know I don't mind if you drink---your dad does. But just wait till you're home. I don't want any bars or clubs getting in trouble."
"Me either, it's not a big deal," she shrugged. "Either way, I fully intend on getting that girl drunk as hell because she needs it and it's the only way she's gonna chill out. And then tomorrow she'll be even more mellow because she'll have a hangover..." She tapped her temple, "Smart thinking, eh, mate?"
She smirked, "I'm surprised you didn't come back talking with a British accent," she chuckled.
"While I was there, it was hard not to," she chuckled.
"Right? One of the first tours Fleetwood Mac did, when were on that part of the world, I was always talking in an accent and it was just funny. I was driving your dad crazy, because he thought I was crazy."
"That's believable," she smiled, watching the happiness glisten in her mother's eyes. "So, you're sure you don't wanna come?"
"No, I'm okay. I'd really rather just curl up and relax. Thursday, we have the rehearsal dinner and I wanna conserve my energy."
"Yep, I'd do the same. Even better that James and I will be gone---you'll have the day to yourself," she winked. "I'm gonna get my sister so drink she won't bother you."
"I appreciate it, but just make sure she eats something; I don't want her to be sick," she picked up her coffee, sipping from it slowly to prevent burning her mouth.
"I know. She eats like a bird and she's probably gonna say, I'm only having one drink..." she mimicked in a higher pitched, snobby tone. "She'll keep on and on, so we shall see..."
The blonde couldn't help but smile to herself, laughing at her younger daughter only because she had quite the personality and although she hated to admit it---she was right about the older daughter.
