After what felt like an eternity, Lori came down the stairs and she actually found what appeared to be Stevie and she whispered in her ear, mindlessly telling Lindsey that their daughter was, in fact, not pregnant.

It was actually kind of a bummer to hear that he wasn't going to be a grandfather, even though he kind of dreaded the outcome at first.

"I gotta tell Lindsey...." he replied, muttering under his breath only because he dreaded having to deal with her and her drunk attitude.

Over the years, he had found there were times when his ex-wife was drunk and loved him, wanted to have fun and didn't have a care in the world, but then others where she was having fun and didn't want to be disrupted by the thought of him or she would get catty. And that night happened to be one of those nights. She wanted nothing to do with him.

"You don't seem like you're in the mood, I'll tell him..." Lori assured. "He'll probably be relieved."

"You'd think that..." he smirked. "No, I gotta talk to him anyway, thanks..." he set his glass down and walked over to what appeared to be himself.

Lori sort of dusted off the comment her sister in-law made and went ahead and met the rest of the girl group.

Lindsey then trailed over to his ex-wife and kind of slid into the conversation easily, not saying anything was key.

Of course she spotted him but she didn't really acknowledge him considering she was pretty buzzed.

Eyes closing, she rested her head in her hand and she blinked heavily, trying to stay awake for the sake of everybody there.

Without a word, Lindsey sipped his wine and he walked around the island in order to grab a glass of water for her.

Once obtained, he switched out her glasses, not caring if she got mad or not.

Instead of getting mad like he thought, she sighed deeply and picked up the glass and started drinking it down rather quickly since her mouth felt dry by that point in the evening.

"Has Lori come down yet?" she muttered.

"Yeah... Dru should be on her way down."

"Any news yet? It's only been the whole dinner..."

"She's not pregnant."

She kind of arched her brow.

"I guess we kinda got our hopes up for nothing..." he claimed

"I'm sure one of these girls are going to make us grandparents eventually... Mel is getting married after all..."

"Yeah, but how keen is she on having kids...? I know Sam wants them, but she hasn't exactly mentioned it."

She waved it off. "This is too much for me right now... I'm exhausted."

"Well, if you wouldn't have drank so much... How are you gonna feel tomorrow?" he wondered.

"Lindsey... Believe it or not, I didn't drink that much. I drank more yesterday than I did today. I just drank faster. I'm simply just tired after all of this planning. After tomorrow, I get to decompress."

"Yeah... Melinda won't be a problem after tomorrow," he kind of nodded, agreeing with the fact that she was probably just overly tired from everything.

She nodded, lifting her glass of water to her lips.

"So, now I'm a problem?" Melinda came over and she crossed her arms. "Mom..."

"That's not what I meant, sweetheart," Lindsey settled his glass down. "The truth is, I'm just tired. There's been a lot going on... And your father and I are tired. That's all... After the wedding is over, we get to go back to normal is all."
