To say that Stevie was relieved by the fact that Charles had nothing nasty to say about the fact that she slept with another man, had an affair and was pregnant was an understatement, and she wished she would have been honest from the start.
She had obviously known she couldn't pass the child off as Charles' even if she wanted to try hard to stay away from Lindsey. But she never had doubts that it was Lindsey's only because Charles had had a vasectomy after having his kids with his then wife, and she knew the truth would have to come out at some point; she just didn't know Lindsey was going to be apart of it. She thought if she begged, Charles would be a father, but then part of her really didn't care if he walked out of her life or not only because as once said, they lacked a common ground when it came to most things. He didn't want children or any to take care of and she didn't mind taking care of children at all---she wanted to be in her children's lives as long as they wanted her in it.
"Stevie, are you serious?" Lindsey asked, becoming ever so soft with her.
Tears slipped away from her eyes as she nodded her head, confirming her news. "I took a test a few days ago, before... everything the last few days," she hinted to before they switched bodies. "I couldn't believe it so I booked an appointment and I went to the doctor's today and they told me so... It was only the next morning that we switched bodies..."
"Oh, my God..." he was ever so stunned yet in love at the same time.
She kind of laughed at the same time as she cried and she brought her arms around his neck, hugging him firmly. "I hope you're happy..." she timidly said in his ear.
"No, of course I am, I'm just shocked," he pulled away, swiping her strands away from her face as well as the tears from her eyes. "I told you I didn't want to lose you, maybe this is what we needed."
She was relieved to hear him say such things but she was still an emotional mess due to the overall idea. She was slightly nervous.
"I'm happy... Makes me even happier that I filed for divorce today," he chuckled.
She smirked and shook her head a little.
"How far along are you?" he then asked, pulling the chair out to seat her.
Taking a seat, she patted her face dry and she sighed, settling her hands down on his.
He took them between his and he kissed them lovingly, staying quite engaged with her as he didn't want to miss any kind of information.
"About ten weeks along..." she assured. "I have ultrasound pictures, I'm in awe.."
He smiled as he watched her get up in order to retrieve her purse.
When she came back to the table with her bag, she pulled them out and slid them his way gently, showing him the strip of black and white photos.
Judging his expression, she could tell he was over the moon and she didn't want to cut his emotions short, though she knew they couldn't keep the kids any longer.
"This is amazing, Stevie..."
"I know," she assured, on the brink of more tears. "I guess it explains the fluttery feeling you felt..."
He looked up at her and realized what he had experienced from her point of view.
It wasn't that he was carrying their child or anything, but he could feel what it felt like unbeknownst to himself.
"That's incredible..." he shook his head. "Is that what it felt like with the girls?"
"Yeah, a little different back then but yes... Just the knowing of something growing in there," she smiled.
