Even later that evening, once dinner was commenced and served; it started out only Stevie and Lindsey, but then Samuel and Melinda ended up finding their way back to the house while Drusilla and James lollygagged their way in only because they had been out and about doing whatever they could in the time they had.

Stevie sat at one head of the table, Lindsey at the other and on both sides the kids had coupled off---Drusilla right across from her older sister, though at the turning points of the table leading to their mother while the guys evened out the side that Lindsey sat at.

James and Samuel had really hit it off while they were at the tux fitting, finding interest in each one's studies and career even if they were different. And thankfully, James had also made quite an impression on Lindsey---he seemed to meet the expectations for his little girl and it was great.

Meantime, Melinda and Drusilla were still at a standstill, picking up right where they left off at lunch.

"Y'know, Lindsey---it was your turn to take the girls," Stevie clasped her hands together from the distance.

"I'll make it up to you," he winked at her and then put his attention back onto the younger men beside him.

The blonde couldn't help but roll her eyes only because they both knew she was buzzed by that point, but they also couldn't help but hope for the same mircale; their daughters getting along for an evening.

The sisters didn't even have to say anything for anybody to figure out that something was wrong; that the two had some sort of argument, but nobody was about to get between that, not even the girls because they didn't care to.

As Stevie sat there, thinking about the setting they were in, she couldn't help but allow her eyes to drift into blank space furthering her thoughts to other subjects and other matters.

From across the table, Lindsey could tell she was zoned out. Sipping on his wine, he took pride in the fact that she used him as her blank space.

The last time he brought his glass to his lips, she looked over and she made eye contact.

He rose his glass to her.

She acknowledged him by the incline of her head, but then suddenly inhaled deeply and took a look at her girls who had started conversing unbeknownst to her. She then picked up her glass, rose it to Lindsey in response and went about the rest of the evening.

After dinner had come to an end; Melinda and Samuel went back home, leaving her parents alone with the young couple in the living room.

Stevie and Lindsey also got more of a chance to get to know James much better; getting to learn his goals in life, how their daughter fit into them considering they were very laced together.

Maybe it seemed mature in the eyes of the divorced parents since they were sitting across the room from each other acting as though they were the teenagers. It was hard to guess what drew them to their daughter's relationship. Unlike Melinda and Samuel, the fluidity seemed reciprocal rather than old fashioned. It was safe to say that they were unlike most regular college couples as they displayed what a healthy relationship looked like, as though they were married.

"Dinner was just how I remember you always making it, which is weird as hell since I know you didn't make it this time," Drusilla chuckled as she dropped her head onto James' shoulder. "That woman, Cassidy... She's amazing!" she praised.

"Really, I agree," James assured---never having experienced such pleasure when it came to food.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it. She's been cooking for me for the last few weeks and I am never getting rid of her. She's great and she listens," she smirked. "Helps a lot around here because she comes to clean too and it just puts my mind at ease. She's a sweetheart and we talk a lot."
