⋘ Along came. . . Matsuko & Ayameko ⋙

Narration AKA: 3rd P.O.V ~

The couple was in disbelief and the surrogate who had heard the news was raising her brows as well since that made no sense.

"What do you mean different DNA?", Atsumu was the first to speak as he looked at the doctor.

"Well just by looking at their ultrasounds it was obvious they would be fraternal twins but now that they have come out it was clear they look even more different than usual fraternal twin differences", the doctor replied while gesturing towards the two babies.

The couple now took a moment to really see what he was saying and it was clear something was up with the way the babies were because sure enough they weren't exactly alike but the differences were clear.

The first baby who was held by Ushijima had a head of thick raven black curls like Sakusa while the babies half cracked open eyes were a deep olive green like Ushijima's as the silent baby seemed to be looking up with a blank expression that was identical to the man holding him, it was clear this was Ushijima's child.

The second baby being held by Atsumu had a head of thick golden blonde curls that clung to their head while the babies also semi-open eyes were a familiar deep obsidian black like Sakusa's eyes, there was a faint smile on the babies face as it gazed up at them and yet the features were very similar to Atsumu's, once again it was very obvious this was Atsumu's baby.

As this revelation reached the couple there was immediate confusion.

"How is this possible? I thought only one sperm could fertilize so how are both babies resembling the two of them?", Sakusa asked bewildered.

"Well although it is very rare, on occasion there can be twins born with two different fathers if intercourse happens back to back and in sequence with the separation of the fertilization of the eggs within. It seems that since we injected both sperms at the same time one must have been a bit delayed making it attach to the separating egg instead, therefore you now have babies with two different strands of DNA" the doctor explained as everyone watched him in disbelief since this was an insane concept but there was a sense of happiness in the couple.

"So instead of only one of us being the father, now we both are?!?", Atsumu said with a giant smile as he hugged the baby close to his face and the baby seemed to smile even further with tiny dimples showing in the soft pale skin.

"It seems so", Ushijima said and a gentle smile was visible on his usually stoic face making the other two do a double take before they laughed and simply enjoyed the moment.

The doctors soon took the babies to clean them up fully and finish the last check ups and get them registered, a nurse came in with two birth certificates.

"Have you considered their names yet?", she asked gently and Atsumu nodded since ever since he knew the gender he had done just that so the other two nodded and let him grab the papers since he seemed to know what he was doing.

Since the first baby who was revealed to be a boy was Ushijima's Atsumu went with a name that included Sakusa and him instead, "I was thinking Matsuko Sakusa-Miya for him".

The two thought the name over before they nodded with smiles since it made sense.

Then for the second baby which was the baby girl was Atsumu's he went with a name that involved the other two this time, "For her I thought Ayameko Wakatoshi-Sakusa was a good one".

Once again the two thought this over before they nodded and Atsumu wrote the names on the lines before each parent signed it.

"Matsuko and Ayameko, I think that was a beautiful choice", the nurse said with a smile as she took the birth certificates to get a record of them.

"I think it was beautiful too", Sakusa said as he came up and reached out for his daughter with a raised brow and Atsumu smiled and handed the little girl over.

Sakusa gazed down at her with a soft smile as he caressed her little cheek that stretched in a toothless smile making her dimples show, the man was in awe with his baby girl and it was clear the babies would be spoiled beyond their lives during their childhood.

Sakusa passed her to Ushijima who switched her with the baby boy in his arms and gave him to Sakusa who once again watched the baby in his arms with a adorable fatherly smile as he rubbed his little soft pale cheeks but this baby was about as expressionless as his daddy but even so his cheeks stretched just a bit in a soft smile.

"Hello Matsuko", Sakusa said softly to the baby boy whose eyes were opened a bit more now as if he was curious about who was looking down at him with his green eyes shining.

Atsumu was watching the interactions with a soft smile before he looked back at the surrogate who was being cleaned up as she rested her head against the pillows with a gentle smile.

"Thank you", he mouthed to her and she nodded with a wider smile before closing her eyes as the doctors cleaned her body and Atsumu looked away to give her body privacy.

The couple allowed themselves these gentle moments with their new babies before they moved to put on their coming home outfits which were cute matching onesies that were pale gray with pale purple little striped lines that said 'He did it', 'She did it'.

This was matched with baby mittens, socks, and matching hats as they were placed in their car seats since they were ready to be sent home after check ups and feeding.

The babies were quiet except for the subtle little baby cooing noises they'd make occasionally, the ride home was a calm and peaceful one as the couple felt invigorated by their new additions to the family and the AI was told of this news and it seemed confused for a bit before replying with.

"Welcome little masters"

As the couple came home the babies began crying a little and with no hesitation they were picked up  from the car seats and brought inside as a servant grabbed the bags out the car.

"This is your new home Matsuko and Ayameko, we hope you like it here", Atsumu said sweetly as they entered the house and Atsu and Sakusa went up to the nursery as Ushijima stayed downstairs to get their milk ready.

The two laid the babies in their cribs and the babies quieted down as they were surrounded with the softness of all the pillows and blankets and before long Ushijima returned with two bottles nice and warm and Atsumu picked up Matsuko and began to feed him while Sakusa nodded at Ushijima to feed Ayameko as he simply watched the gentle interaction.

The couple was beyond happy with their new babies here with them as the gentle comfort in the room spread from the new sensation of the twins in their home while the love the three held for the children was seriously beginning to grow even further.

This families new life was only just beginning....
