River POV

"So Burke and Derek were picturing your faces while angrily playing darts?" I asked, Meredith, Cristina, and Alex were sat in front of me. I unfortunately was still recovering in my hospital room. "Are you sure Derek's wasn't him being really needing to get laid?" Mark asked. Meredith, who was next him, started slapping in response, "No his pretty face!" I hissed.

"I won't hit his pretty face, his pretty face is protected!" Meredith argued back.

"Actually I think Derek's was him needing to get laid," Cristina said.

"Yeah, well Burke is just frustrated because you fell asleep during sex," Meredith said back. Cristina just shrugged, "At least we didn't fall in love with a patient," she said. Alex groaned, thankfully not loudly, Rosemary was asleep in the corner. "She really should have been taken off that case," Mark said.

"She's gonna do something stupid," my dad agreed.

"That bitch is being a bitch," Callie muttered. Meredith's phone went off, she elt and answered it, "Doc's got bone cancer," she revealed. We looked at her sadly, "So that was Derek then?" Alex asked.

"Yeah, he said he would go to the appointment," Meredith said. I yawned (A/N: Sorry if I made you yawn), and Mark sent everyone off for the night.

The next morning, the chief walked in, "Dr. Sloan, Dr. House, we had a workplace shooting and we need all hands on deck, do you two mind stepping in?" he asked. My fiancée and father looked at me, "Go, I'll be fine," I said, shooing them out.

"Dr. Blackburn, you can wander up there, your doctor is letting you walk around since you are also an intern," the chief said, he handed me my badge, along with giving Dad and Mark visitor ones and informing them that the other doctors know they are here and step in to lead people.

While walking around, I found Bailey and Cristina, "Oh, now you're concerned," a woman said. "I said I was sorry," a man said.

"Sorry? The shooting starts and you duck behind me, and you're sorry" the woman argues as Cristina is cleaning her arm. Cristina, surprised turned around and said at the same time as me, "You ducked behind her?" Bailey and Cristina looked at me in surprise, "I was cleared to walk around since I'm still an intern, Mark and Dad are helping out in other spots and the nurses are watching over my baby, I need to leave in a couple hours to feed her," I said to Bailey, who was giving me the 'disappointed mom' look.

"It was instinct. I couldn't help it. Deb, honey. You know I love you," the man said.

"Love means never having to use your girlfriend as a human shield," his girlfriend, who I now know is Deborah, argued.

"We shared a bullet Deborah, it went through you and into me. That's a sign we should be together forever, a sign," the boyfriend said.

"No, Neal, this is a sign," Deborah pointed at what Cristina was doing, "She is squirting water through my arm," she lifted her arm up, "Look. I can see you through my arm. That's another sign."

"Good luck," Bailey muttered, "Stay with her," she told me. Cristina had run off so I was checking with my father and fiancée. They were checking off the non severe gunshot wounds and while Dad worked on one of the more severe ones, and Mark started doing stitches on the less severe ones as it would make sense that a plastic surgeon would be the best with stitches.

"Hi, Meredith," I said, hearing the rant the manager of the restaurant was giving, and his cocky attitude, "Is there any chance you can please up my morphine?" her patient asked
