Chapter 11

Jisung's POV

This is so nerve-wrecking. How do they even handle this kinda stress? I could literally feel my heart beating out of my chest

The team of five were seated patiently waiting for the announcement of the winners of Eco Thinkers, at least most of them. Jaemin was listening to music on his earphones while Ryujin and Yeji were playing around as usual.

However, they could feel the tension between Chenle and Jisung. The both of them haven't spoken to each other since Jisung confessed his feelings for Chenle.

"What do you think is going on with them?" Ryujin asked Yeji, referring to Chenle and Jisung.

"I don't know. They might just be nervous about the results,"

"Nah, I don't think so. They were like this since before their presentation. Actually, they were like this since Chenle stormed off and Jisung went to comfort him,"

"You're right. Maybe Jisung said something he shouldn't have,"

Before Ryujin could reply, the MC started to speak again.

Here it is. I really hope we don't get disqualified. At least for Chenle.

"Welcome back everyone. Hope you're all well rested after that intense rounds of presentation yesterday. So without wasting anymore time, I'll be announcing the winners of Eco Thinkers. If your name is not mentioned it could be because your Stage 3 presentation wasn't good enough or because you broke a rule in Stage 2. The champion will be given a cash prize and is allowed to compete in the international level while the runners up and second runners up will only be given a cash prize,"

"Really hope it's not either," Yeji mumbled to herself.

"The second runners up of Eco Thinkers is..."

Yeji and Ryujin who were holding hands squeezed each others hands tighter. Jaemin looked at the MC with such immense focus. Chenle closed his eyes shut and subconsciously held onto Jisung's arm while Jisung was smiling at the action.

"We Innovaite! Congratulations,"

The members of Ecofy seemed disappointed but they were still hopeful.

"Now for the moment you've all been waiting for, the champion of Eco Thinkers is..."

"Silence!"

The crowd went quiet.

"That's their name. Congratulations, Silence!"

Now, the group of five were hopeless. They weren't expecting much but not being announced the champions did hurt.

"That means the runners up is..."

"Ecofy! Congratulations guys,"

By the time they announced the runners up, nobody was paying much attention.

"Hey, that's us. Guys, we won! We're the runners up!" Jisung exclaimed.

"Oh my god! We won!" Chenle joined him as they both hugged each other before realising what they were doing and retreating shyly.

"Runners up? That's good enough I guess," Ryujin said confidently.

"Wait, that means we weren't disqualified," Yeji suddenly thought.

Just then, Seulgi walked up to the group and congratulated them.

"Congratulations guy! I knew you could do it. Sorry I scared you about the rule break,"

"But how come there wasn't a rule break?" Jaemin asked.

"I'm not sure. You'll have to ask the judges about that," Seulgi replied.
