FRIDAY // END OF THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL

8:45PM

"What's going on in here and why wasn't I invited?" Scorpius said as he entered the dormitories. He had just conducted his first Friday night quidditch practice of the year and he wished he could say it had been productive but he and Dean argued the entire time about the plays, the drills, and even the time and date for tryouts.

Scorpius threw down his quidditch bag, completely exhausted, before walking over to Albus's bed to get the full view of what was going on. Albus was sitting on the edge of his bed, fingernails and toes freshly painted a pretty lilac color, while Rose was applying mascara to his eyelashes, the finishing touch it seemed to Albus's full face of makeup.

"Just some girl time." Rose joked, smiling at her handiwork. Albus's cheeks flushed red with embarrassment. Wearing makeup suddenly felt stupid and wrong...but as Scorpius gazed at him with only love in his eyes, he relaxed again, remembering he was with his best friends and they were only having a bit of fun.

"Ah, let's see," Scorpius grinned, walking over to his fiancé. He put a gentle hand under Albus's chin and lifted his face up towards him to admire his shimmery eyeshadow and perfectly blushed cheeks, "Just gorgeous." Scorpius said with an approving nod, leaning down to kiss Albus's lips. As he withdrew, he smacked his lips together a few times, knowing he had Albus's lipgloss on him now.

"How was practice?" Rose asked conversationally as she started putting her cosmetics back into her makeup bag.

"Spy!" Scorpius shouted, pointing a warning finger at the redhead and causing Albus to burst into laughter. Rose rolled her eyes.

"I was just curious! No spying here!" she said, holding up her hands to show her innocence. Scorpius's former fake stern glare turned into a sort of grimace as he thought about how frustrating it was dealing with Dean.

"Well, honestly it was pretty shit."

"Again?" Albus asked, frowning. He knew how much winning the quidditch cup meant to Scorpius and he had already heard multiple stories about Dean acting up in practices. Scorpius nodded as he tore off his quidditch uniform. He rummaged around in his dresser for a few moments before looking in Albus's instead, stealing a t-shirt and a pair of pajama pants.

"What if you just...replaced him? Tryouts are coming up, aren't they?" Rose suggested.

"I want to but I can hardly justify cutting a seventh year off the team, especially when he's performed well the previous two years. The only way McGonagall would let me get rid of him would be for him to not come to practice two more times...but ever since I got on him about it, he's been there early, every single time. It's like he wants me to be miserable."

"He probably does." Rose said, matter-of-factly. Scorpius shot her a look that said: No kidding, and she closed her mouth again.

"Ever since he heard about the engagement he's done everything he can to oppose me in practices, I don't know if we'll ever reconcile, but the thing is, it's not my fucking problem!" Scorpius was getting more and more pissed by the second, "I haven't done anything wrong! He's just a fucking lunatic who was in love with me and got butt hurt when I didn't like him back." he groaned with frustration as he flopped onto Albus's bed, face first. Albus reached a hand out and scratched the blonde's muscled back to soothe him.

"Boys are weird." Rose said, shaking her head. She bid them goodnight and as she let out a lingering yawn. As she left, she pulled the curtains closed around Albus's four poster and wandered to the staircase, eager to go to sleep as the first week of her seventh year came to a close.
