    DECEMBER  12th

In the days following Albus's arrival back home, Harry and Albus had barely spoken. Not because of anger or particular drama...but hickeys and girlfriends, those were things Albus didn't want to talk about and Harry, thankfully, didn't want to discuss either. If girlfriends were awkward, imagine boyfriends...They talked about the weather, how delicious Ginny's meals were, and sometimes Hogwarts but those conversations usually ceased quickly when they began morphing into lectures or arguments.

Ginny was different. On the day of Albus's return home and the night following, Ginny had tip toed into his room with a mug of cocoa for him. She sat on his bed and tried to act casual, commenting on things like how his hair had gotten longer or if he'd like to do a bit of repainting in his room before getting to her final point; "So tell me about your girlfriend!" to which Albus would hastily try to change the subject and eventually she would leave disappointedly. He wanted to tell her. He really did, his relationship with his mum had always been exceptionally better than his with Harry. The only problem was, if he told her there was a large chance she would tell Harry. She always seemed to tell him things eventually, thinking Harry could keep a secret...he couldn't. And this secret wasn't like the others.

It was a week before Albus and Scorpius's three month anniversary and they'd decided that they already missed each other so much that they wanted to send each other their gifts early. Albus was waiting up for Scorpius's letter and package, but in the letter he sent Scorpius the night before he instructed him to wait a bit longer before sending his to make sure it would all arrive later in the night when his parents would be asleep. Then he would have all the time in the world to pore over Scorpius's letter and revel in whatever he sent with it.

His thoughts were interrupted when Ginny came in that night, the same hot chocolate in her hands. He had been expecting her so he was already sitting up in bed with a blanket to lay over the both of them for when she rested beside him. He decided he was going to tell her some small details, things she couldn't trace back to Scorpius, just to give her something. Then maybe she'd stop asking so much.

"Hi mum." Albus hummed, shifting to the side a bit to give her space next to him. She smiled cheerily, sitting against his headboard before handing him one of the steaming cups in her hands, "I want to tell you about them..a little bit." he said, faltering when she sat up excitedly.

"Just a little bit," he repeated, she nodded, sitting back quietly, anxious to hear about his new interest, "I'll tell you more when...I know I can." he said slowly. She furrowed her brows but didn't press, still waiting for him to start.

"Well...to start, our three month anniversary is coming up. On Christmas eve actually." he said slowly, taking a sip of cocoa.

"That's amazing Albus! Shame you won't see each other on the day. But anyways, how did you two meet?" she asked curiously, holding back the urge to ask why he hadn't mentioned her sooner.

"Er, well school of course. We met first year and we were just friends...but then I dunno, we both found out we had crushes on each other this year...and well..." Albus shrugged, orchestrating his responses as carefully as he could.

"Three months and you're already comfortable enough with each other to do this," she teased, poking his fading hickeys, Albus turned crimson.

"Mum."

"Have you mentioned her before?" She changed the subject.

"Uh..." Albus thought stupidly, "I probably have. I dunno."

"Why don't you invite her for Christmas? I'm sure my mum would love to hav-"

"No." Albus said, somewhat harshly. He took a breath when he caught sight of Ginny's frown, "Not yet. Someday I will...but it's too soon." he said calmly. Ginny nodded, deciding to change the subject.
