DECEMBER 1st - 7:00AM
"How long have you been awake?" said a groggy voice from beside Albus Potter.
"An hour. Maybe a bit longer." Albus replied, unwilling to tear his eyes away from the binder in his lap. He was holding a dry-erase marker in his hand and scribbling notes all over the laminated papers inside.
"Why?" Scorpius asked incredulously as he glimpsed at the clock beside their bed.
"Because, I realized last night that the wedding is so soon, and I have no idea if Ginny or your Dad have made the proper reservations yet," he grumbled something under his breath that sounded like:'They better have', before continuing.
"So I owled mum this morning to see how the preparations are going on their side and you know what," Albus huffed, "We're getting cellphones after we graduate because this owl business is idiotic. I can't be expected to just wait forever for a damn letter-"
"Don't stress," Scorpius said, staunching a yawn behind his hand. His nonchalance started to irritate Albus and he cast Scorpius a beady side eye, "The wedding isn't till mid-June, and trust me. My dad and your mum have been all over it since the proposal. I'm sure they've got it handled. And yes, we'll get cellphones if it'll make you feel better." Scorpius said, patting Albus's arm, ignoring his glare.
"Fine. Okay. You're probably right," Albus sighed, setting the binder on the floor beside him, "And yes. It would make me feel better." he said, sinking back down under the covers. Scorpius grinned and leant forward to kiss Albus on the head.
"My little stress-head." Scorpius teased, "Try to get some rest. The big match is this afternoon and I need you wide awake to watch me the whole time." he said as a wide smile stretched across his face. As he had hoped, the quidditch season had gone very well for Slytherin. The team had completely beat out Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw from the running for the quidditch cup and tonight was the big game that would determine who would win it all.
"Oh, right. Are you nervous?" Albus asked, he had forgotten all about it. He was swamped at the paper most weeks, then busy doing homework, and his weekends were full at the tattoo parlor. He hardly had the mental capacity to think about anything else besides work and school. And Scorpius, obviously. But quidditch was hardly on his mind unless Scorpius was talking about all the ways he had been bringing Slytherin to victory this season.
"A bit. But mostly excited," Scorpius said, springing out of bed suddenly, "Ready for breakfast?" he asked enthusiastically. He always had an extra pep in his step before anything quidditch related.
"Mmm, no," Albus decided after a moment of thought, "I've got nobody to sit with. You'll be with the team, Rose will be with her team, and Lil's will be with her girlfriend." he sighed.
"Alright," Scorpius said, pulling on a pair of jeans. "I'll bring you something back then, I won't be long." he said, now stepping into his sneakers. Albus nodded before burying his face into his pillow, an extra hour of sleep wouldn't hurt him. After a few moments, he assumed Scorpius had left already, but he heard footsteps coming near him and then Scorpius's lips on his cheek.
"Muah," Scorpius planted a firm kiss on his face, "I love you. Sleep well." he said before darting out of the room. "I love you more" Albus mumbled with a small smile spread across his face, even though he already knew Scorpius had gone.
"Ready to lose?" Scorpius said abruptly as he leant down, close to Rose's ear. He had snuck up on her in the Great Hall and earned glares from the Gryffindor Quidditch team sitting around her, his opposition that day. She jumped at the sound of his voice and whipped around, scowling.
