Part 10: Her Memories

Third Person POV:

FLASHBACKS OF Y/N'S MEMORIES

On the anniversary of her parents death every year Y/N followed the same routine ever since they died. She would spend time with Tony in the morning, trying to comfort her big brother. They would travel to their parents grave, then Tony would spend the rest of the day drinking. That was when Y/N was able to grieve in her own way.

Y/N drove back to their graves, the tears flooding her cheeks every time, without fail. She could hold it together for Tony, but that was the extent of her strength. Her heart broke. Her fists collided with the steering wheel of her car while her piercing screams echoed in the empty car.

She walked over to her mum's grave, she always left a single red rose in front of the grave stone. Her tears trickled down her face dripping off the bottom of her chin. Her mum always used to tell her, even when she was a tiny child that a single red rose was the epitome of elegance. Her dad's grave beside her mum's she always placed a new photo of her and Tony, she never wanted him to miss a moment of their lives.

Driving back home was the hardest for Y/N, trying to always walk past Tony. Not that he ever really noticed after his drinking binge that day. Scrambling past Tony sat in the lounge she quietly shut and locked her bedroom door behind her before she crumbled to the ground. Her hand lingering as she fell in silent cries. That's where she stayed for the rest of the night. Silently crying on the floor of her bedroom. Grieving the parents she never got to really know.

END FLASHBACK

"Do you get it now?! Do you finally realise what a jerk you've been?!" Wanda yelled back at Tony when she withdrew her magic from his mind.

"She adores you Tony! You are the only family she has ever known! And you! YOU just broke her heart!"

Tony's eyes filled with a glaze of tears. His head dropped when Wanda stopped speaking. All the words he used today flooded over him like a tidal wave. His voice carried the smallest whisper, the words only just heard by Wanda.

"God what have I done?"

"Oh you think that's it? Tony...you really don't know anything about how Bucky feels about her..."

Wanda realised what she had done when she finished that sentence. Almost beating herself up internally for sharing too much with Tony. The heat of the discussion clouded her thoughts.

"What are you talking about?"

"You think he was using her...you couldn't be more wrong."

Tony let out a quiet scoff, his emotions creating multiple 360 degree turns today. "I'll believe it when I see it!"

Wanda knew that it was wrong, that maybe this was too much, too far. But it was Y/N...it was the woman that became like a sister to her. If this would help Wanda would do just about anything at this point.

Her hands sparked with a red glow again pushing another memory into Tony's mind.

FLASHBACK TO 1 WEEK AGO

"She wants to tell him Sam..."

"What's so bad about that? You'll finally be able to tell people! Isn't that what you've always wanted? You told me right after your first date you were going to marry her...you knew she was it for you"

"I remember!" Bucky looked away from Sam, the pain starting to overwhelm his voice. "But I already tore her family apart once. I can't be responsible for doing that to her again."

"What are you saying Buck?"

"I know he's going to make her choose...I hurt Tony more than anyone...And I know he won't be able to see me with her. It's why I keep trying to stop her telling people. But I know it's gonna happen...so next week I'll get Y/N to tell him. But I know that will be the day I lose her..."

Bucky tried to keep the tears from escaping, he wasn't one for crying, not anymore. There was always something about Y/N that made him vulnerable in nearly every way.

"She won't leave you Buck..."

"I...I can't lose her either. But if it comes down to me or Tony...I can't let her pick me..." Bucky's prolonged silence echoed between him and Sam. "In one week I'll lose the love of my life...but she needs her big brother..."

"She needs you too!"

END FLASHBACK

Tony left without a word. The second the memory stopped playing his feet carried him out of the room, leaving a stunned Wanda standing alone. The last thing she thought Tony would do after seeing that would be too walk away.
