Chapter 24

She stood across the street of their house, confused with what's going on. There was a moving truck and the family was just out of the house looking back at it.

She can't process all of this, she needed time to process it. She needed to talk to her, she crossed the street to meet Ymir who is looking at the house where she grew up and made her memories. Her parents are already inside the car waiting for her.

"Ymir..."

She turned to see, the last girl she would want to see her leaving. She couldn't speak properly- no she can't speak at all. It's just too much for her. Seeing her standing there looking at her with confusion and fear. She can't take it, she needs to tell her. She knew keeping it as a secret was a stupid idea, now she's regretting it. She's regretting every bit of it.

"W-what's going on?" Historia asks, she has realized it, she's just refusing to believe, she wants answers and confirmations, but all Ymir could do was look at her.

"Y-you're leaving aren't you?"

With all the courage she has, she weakly nodded her head and spoke.

"I-I am."

There is was, the confirmation she needed, with her last hope of it not being true, broken. Tears started to form on her eyes. Ymir's words to her before echoed into her head.

"B-but we promised to never leave each other... what happened to that?"

"I-I'm sorry... but we need to, there's a doctor that can help my mother, but it's far from here and she needs treatments for almost everyday and it's really far it takes almost two days to travel, it's the only way." She said, hoping that the blonde would understand. It was hard to take in for Historia, she doesn't want Ymir to leave but with the situation of Ymir's family, she has to let her go... even if it means hurting her.

"Y-you idiot... you could've atleast told us that you were leaving!"

"I know, I know it was a stupid idea, and I regret it very much, but please always remember the promise we made last night, please. If I have a free time I'll visit you okay?"

"Ymir! Come!" Her father called for her. She hugs Historia one last time and kissed her in the forehead.

"Goodbye."

She turned around and left, Historis just stood there frozen, she watched Ymir leave, she watched the one she loves so much leave, and she couldn't do anything. She didn't even got to tell her how much she loves her. Her knees fell weak as everything started to sink in to her. Shaking, she fell down on her knees and started to cry.

"Ymir! You idiot! come back! don't leave me!" She cried, even if she knows it won't help at all.

Ymir had tried her best to hold back her tears, but as soon as she has entered the car, tears started to stream down her face, her parents felt bad, but still they continued to drove to their destination. Her mother had comforted her, so she stopped cause she knows if she doesn't, her mother would start blaming herself.

She stayed there on her knees crying for minutes, she only wanted to be with her, she wanted her comfort and touch, she wanted to just spend her life with her. But she can't... for now. She knows Ymir and her would someday be together again, but for now she needs to accept that she is away from her.

'One day Ymir, we will be together again, and if not maybe in another lifetime.'

Eren's Point of view

Time sure does pass by quickly. It's been five months since Ymir left, five months since me and Mikasa had been together. I'm glad we are all doing well now. Especially Historia the first few months after Ymir left, she was a mess! We were all worried for her, there were even times when she doesn't attend school. But we were able to talk to her.

Our graduation was just a week ago, we all passed with good grades. And in a few months we'll be in college. I didn't even think I'd make it to college. I'm glad I'm still here. Mikasa on the other hand, a month after we've been together, she had been having random breakdowns. She even had tried to kill herself twice. We consulted her to a therapist but the therapist said that she will only need a few medications. She can't really understand what her condition is, but with the medications her breakdowns had lessen.

I'm trying my best to help her, sometimes I even feel as if I'm no help at all. But she always reassures me that I am. I'm lucky to have her.

She hasn't been that good this past few days so I've decided to take her somewhere special. I've told her to get ready so I can pick her up.

I waited for her in their living room, as usual Levi is staring at me. I don't get why he does this... we've been going out for five months now, don't tell me he still doesn't trust me?

Not long after Mikasa came downstairs wearing a white summer dress. She gave me a peck on the cheeks and said her goodbyes to Levi, before heading out. I borrowed mom's car and we drove off to where we are going. She still doesn't know where, so she's very eager on the way there.

After almost an hour we arrived on our destination. It was a small farm with many kinds of fruits and vegetables. I led her outside the car. And she looked at the view and turned to me.

"You brought me to a farm?"

"Yeah, but we're going to be strawberry picking, then we can eat them later on." I said, her eyes beamed in excitement once I've mentioned that we are gonna eat them.

"Well come on then!" She said pulling me through the path. I let out a small chuckle and walked with her.

There were only a few people there. The workers and some few guests. Spring has come and the strawberries are starting to bear fruits, making this the perfect time to harvest them.

Mikasa was in complete awe as we pass by fields of strawberries and other fruits. One farmer handed us some gardening tools and baskets and showed us where we can pick strawberries.

"You two are a very cute couple, may you last long and have a good life." The lady told us as she leads us the way. Once we arrived there Mikasa immediately went picking some. She raised one up high and showed it to me.

"Eren! Look it's so big! Come on!" She said and I chuckled. Before going there the lady tapped my back and pointed at Mikasa.

"You love her very much don't you?" She asked.

"I do... very much."

"Protect her at all costs. And never give her up to anyone."

"Yes ma'am." She gave me a nice smile and said her goodbyes. I smiled as the thought of our future together. After college I'll marry you Mikasa, and I won't let you go, for you are mine and I am yours.
