Chapter 4

Mikasa's Point or view.

I opened our front door and entered the house. I looked for any signs of Levi but he was no where to be found. Maybe he was working late again.

Ever since Kenny left us he was always trying to find a way to survive. I'm really thankful to have him. He's the only family I have left. I'll do everything just to make him proud.

I went up stairs to my bedroom and laid on my bed. I can't stop thinking about what Eren said. I wonder what he meant. I pushed all those thoughts away and went to sleep.

"Mom are you gonna be fine?" I asked my mother. They were gonna go to a hospital far from here. She has been feeling really bad this past few days.
"Yeah sweetie I'll be fine." She said as she held my face softly. "When will you be back?" I asked her again. "Maybe after a week." She said.

"Mikasa come." My uncle called for me. I looked at my mother one more time and held her hand.
"I love you mom take care." I said to her and she pulled me into a hug.
"I love you too sweetheart I'll be back I promise." My mother said as she kissed my forehead one more time.

I then went to my uncle and my older cousin Levi and we all waved them goodbye. I was able to hold back my tears until they all left. I started to cry once they were out of my sight.

"Come on Mika your mom will be fine and stop crying okay it won't help everything will be fine." Levi said as he patted my back and my uncle just went inside the house after that.

I stopped crying and hugged Levi and we followed our uncle.

A few days after I got home from school.
My uncle seemed to be a little quiet than usual so is Levi. I knew something as wrong.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked.
Nobody answered me. "Did something and happened? Please tell me." I asked again still no answer I started to sob i feel like something is really wrong why won't they tell me. "Please tell me! I want to know it's scaring me." I said as tears started to fall.

"Please tell me I want to-" I was cutt off.
Levi run to me and hugged me. "Mikasa I'm sorry." He started to cry a little.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Mika your mom died."

'Your mom died.'
No this isn't true mom is alive and well this isn't true it can't be true!

"No no it can't be." I said as I walked back and fell on the floor.

"I'm sorry Mikasa she's dead she's not coming back." Levi said. He tried to hold back his tears but a few fell.

I broke down I cried all day I didn't eat I didn't sleep I just waited for my father to arrive.
