Mia was proud of what she had done. She couldn't be mounted by a jerk, a fool, a cheater. What'd he expect? Hugs and kisses? The man was crazy. Todd Daniels was completely out of his mind.
She sat on the ground and thought of what she had said. She was rough, but she didn't regret it one bit. Nobody even bothered to bail her out, to talk to her and ask her what had really happened.
That was sad.
Once, she had thought that her family would do everything for her. She thought they would stand with her regardless. Where are they now?
Probably discussing her right now. Her aunt Katie must be gossiping endlessly. Even Sunny must know by now...which reminded her.
Her new boss!
She had forgotten about that. He was Henrico's father. She would lose her job. Another thing that she held on to dearly is gone. She lost everything now, even her own job.
She was all alone, for good this time.

Santiago Farm, 09h00
“Benjamin, I have to see my daughter. You will not forbid me from leaving this time!" Greta exclaimed.
“Greta, how many times have we discussed this? She needs some time alone to think of what she had done. She killed a boy! We cannot sugar coat this!"
“It's been six days. She has thought about it many times! She's a Santiago, and we help each other!" Greta exclaimed. When Benjamin ignored her, she grabbed her keys and fled out the door. Nobody would stop her from seeing her own daughter. She needed support.
She drove as fast as she could, and thanked the Lords that she had taken the truck instead. It was faster. Mia was a mile away from home.
She knew that Mia would never forgive her. She had done wrong. As a mother, she was supposed to have supported Mia from the very start.
She admitted, never in all her life, had she seen her daughter so thin and fragile. Mia had lost an inconsiderable amount of weight. Her cheeks were pale and stained with dirt, her hair frizzy and she looked like she hadn't eaten in days, which she probably hadn't.
“Mia!" her mother exclaimed. Her daughter looked like her daughter, but the look in her eyes was so distant. She looked cold. Mia was the type of person that lost weight when she had problems, and it was hard to gain weight.
Her mind raced back to when Mia spent eight days and seven nights in her bedroom after Henrico's betrayal. She had lost so much weight. Now that she was happy again, this happens.
Greta rushed to Mia. She wrapped her arms around Mia's shoulders, she felt her daughter's body against hers and a tear escaped her eyes.
“Forgive me."
And Mia did.
She had no one left. She hugged her mother back, and silently cried into her mother's shoulders. She was well aware that her mother was crying. She must look terrible.
As much as Mia wanted to hate her mother, she couldn't. Her mother was her mother, and would always be. She for sure, would stay on Mia's side.
“What took you so long?" Mia sobbed.
“They didn't want me to come to you. They didn't want me with you." Greta sobbed.
They cuddled for a long time. Mia hadn't had any physical contact in the last six days, when she needed contact the most. She would never forgive hee family for what they had done.

“Todd."
Nothing.
“Todd." He was slightly opening his eyes now.
“Damnit, Todd. Wake up!"
This time, he opened his eyes. His vision was blurry, so he had to blink multiple times to clear his vision.
He looked up and saw Donald staring back at him, his brows cocked and his head tilted to the side.
“Da'fuck you on?" he asked. Todd pushed him away, and sat up, asking, “Where am I?"
Donald laughed, “What you talking about airhead? We're at home."
“Home?"
“Yeah, your house."
Todd looked around. He recognized the place now. It was his house. Not Mia's, nor Mia's family's. His. Only his. He sighed. He had no idea of how he got here, and he didn't care. As long as he was alive.
“Where's Mia?" Todd asked. Donald's face fell. “Come on, Todd. Stop fucking around, will ya'?"
Then Todd remembered. His heart sank. The pain was excruciating, he couldn't even control it. He had failed her. He began crying.
Donald stopped dead on his tracks and turned to face Todd. He cocked his brows. Then his phone rang, and he answered it.
“Hell...o?"
“Donald, my man, what's up? Where you at?" he heard his friend Pete ask.
“Uh...home?" He couldn't take his eyes off Todd.
“Your dad's there?"
“Yeah, he's wasted."
“How wasted?"
“He's crying."
“Damn."
“Hashtag tequilatears." Donald chuckled, “Anyways, I gotta go. Catch up with you later."
He hung up.
He looked down at Todd, desperately praying for him to shut up. He just wouldn't. He was inexplicably wasted. Damn, Donald had never seen him act like this. He didn't know what to do.
He covered Todd with a Chenille throw and left the apartment. He didn't care about being a shitty son, he just wanted to get the hell away from all the drama. In theory, he was just a kid.
Todd on the other hand had never felt such agony. He couldn't even compose himself. He just cried. Once upon a time, he was the heartbreaker. The player, the masochistic beast. Now, he was nothing but a broken man.
He laid back down, his tears were now dried up. He had nothing left, just rotting flesh and a cold heart. Thinking of it now, he was just like his father.
All his life, he had avoided that. Now, the truth is haunting him. He tried everything, but the genes are too strong. He is, whether he liked it or not, a photocopy of his biological father. His mother had said so multiple times.
Oh, how he hated the thought of it.
