Chapter Ten

“Oh my God!"Jade said,her mouth wide open.

“I know!",Mia squealed,“The kiss was fervent,it was so passionate!"

“Who is this man?"her friendly co-worker asked with wide eyes.

“Well,his name is Todd Daniels and-"

“That's a hot name."

“I know!"Mia squealed again,feeling like the happiest woman in the world.She couldn't deny it any longer.She was falling for Todd Daniels,and she was falling hard.He had poise,charm,everything she wished for in a man.He was her “dream man" and she wasn't ready to let him slip through her fingers.She was going to hold on to him.

“What are you going to do now?"Jade asked with a light gasp leaving her parted lips.Mia cocked an eyebrow,and then grinned.

“I'm not going to let him go."

“That's the spirit!"

“Ladies get back to work!"their boss groaned as he passed by the now empty lunchroom.They stood up quickly,making sure to drop their empty paperbags in the trashcan.

Jade occasionally winked at Mia,making Mia blush.She couldn't stop thinking about the date,the way Todd treated her like a real lady.Celine Dion was right,she thought to herself.

“Santiago,please come to my office in the next five minutes!"she heard her boss call through the intercom.She took in a deep breath.Maybe she had done something wrong?She didn't know.She was a dedicated worker and a very organized one as well.She was shaky and nervous,and she didn't know what Sonny wanted from her.He was a good man,but he was nasty when he needed to be,and he was strict as well.

Five minutes went by and she walked to her boss's office.She knocked and walked through the door swiftly,a bright smile on her face.

“Yes,Sonny?"

“Please have a seat."he said as he gestured his hand to the chair across him.She sat and crossed her legs,patiently waiting for her boss to say something.

“Santiago,I like your work."he said as he examined files.“All my clients say you're friendly and that you motivate them into purchasing our merchandise.I'm very proud of you Santiago."

“Thank you,Sonny."she said gratefully.She couldn't be happier at the moment.

“I'd like you to be my PA."he announced,and her heart skipped a million beats.

“Is that a promotion?"

“I'm afraid it is Santiago."he said with a genuine smile.She was squealing in joy,her abdomen was tightened and her eyes were sparkling with delight.She has been waiting for this day in a long time,she couldn't wait any longer.A PA?She couldn't stop grinning.

“I see you like the news."

“Yes,I do!Thank you so much!"she said as she tumbled towards him and shook his hand rapidly.

“You're most welcomed Santiago!"

She stormed out the door,tears of joy burning her eyes.She spotted Jade in the lunchroom and she charged towards it.Stumbling in,Jade gasped and accidentally dropped her mug of coffee.Mia frightened her.

“What is going on?Why are you stumbling?You scared me!"Mia exclaimed as she picked up the broken glass from the tile floor.

“I was promoted!"

Jade dropped the glass that was in her hands and charged towards her friend.They hugged for a long time,the two of them giggling and babbling about how happy they were.Jade was a PA as well,she worked with the Deputy's of the company,and she was glad that Mia would join her in the department too.
