Chapter Six

Mia stepped into the garage and took a good look around the place.She was desperately looking for someone to fix her car.The sooner it was fixed the sooner she could leave.

“Ms Santiago!"someone called.She turned to face the person and saw the other man,Gerald,nearing her.

“Good Afternoon."she said less enthusiastically.

“Did you bring your car?"he asked her.

“Yes.But I honestly don't understand the reason to why I had to bring it in for a check-up.I think it's unnecessary.The car hasn't given me any problems."she said with confidence.

Gerald swallowed hard.

“Well,you see,I didn't fix your car,my partner Todd did.He's the one that suggested you bring the car over."Gerald explained.

Mia gave an understanding nod.Gerald felt a little uncomfortable in her presence.As far as he noticed,she wasn't an easy,futile woman.She wasn't as vulgar as the rest.She was a woman that fought for her rights and dressed well and said what she thought.Gerald respected woman of that genre.

“Please,follow me."Gerald said with respect.

“What about the car?"she asked.

“I'll drive it inside.Don't you worry."Gerald chuckled nervously.

Mia followed Gerald to the main area,where all the cars were fixed and where tools were around the place.

“Todd!"Gerald called out loud.

“Coming!"he replied.

Mia wasn't paying attention to what Gerald was saying to this Todd guy.She simply wanted to go home and rest her stress away.

“Good afternoon."she heard a deep voice say.She turned to face the person and she saw the man she found attractive in front of her.

She tried to regulate her breathing and act normal,but she found it a little difficult.

“Good afternoon."she said clearing her throat.

He shook her hand in a professional manner,but his intentions were completely different.He wanted to feel her skin against his,even though it was simply the palm of her tiny hands.

“Your car has had a few problems so I just wanted to give it a look,just to make sure everything is in order."Todd explained to her in his best tone.She nodded as he spoke,admiring the way he is so professional.

“...hope you don't mind."he said as he flashed her a dazzling smile.She blinked a few times to snap back into reality.

“Of course."she said,hoping she said the right thing.

He accompanied her to where her car was parked and he explained all the processes the car had to go through.

She couldn't stop staring at him,the way his lips moved as he spoke,the way he cocked an eyebrow every now and then.She noticed all those little things about them,and she couldn't deny the effect they had on her.

“And the payment?"she asked,raising an eyebrow.

“I told you on the phone,it's only a check-up.No money involved."he said with a smile.She gave him an awkward nod and kept her mouth closed.

“When will all these processes be done?"she asked.

“In a week or so."Todd responded.

“But,I need the car,I have to go to work and-"

“Don't worry."he cut her off with a chuckle.“You may still use the car,there will be no need for us to keep it."

“Oh."she said as her cheeks heat up.He noticed this.He smirked internally.He knew he had an effect on her,he could see it in her eyes.

“I-I should be going now."Mia stuttered,and she mentally cursed at herself for stuttering.She didn't want him to know he had an effect on her.

“That's okay.I'll be expecting you tomorrow."he said with a nod.She didn't respond,she simply nodded and flashed him a nervous smile.

She drove away,thinking about the events that occured not too long ago.She couldn't take that handsome man out of her mind.Those eyes.Those yummy lips.She couldn't take it any longer.He was tempting.

As much as she wanted to,she couldn't.She was battling with her brain,but somehow,it always won.

The moment she breathed in her home's familiar scent,she relaxed a little.She was tired and her head was killing her.

She took a shower,wore her most comfortable sleeping wear and took a nap.She laid in bed,thinking about the mysterious mechanic.
