Chapter Eight

“He proposed!"

Mia has been hearing people say those words too many times.She was beginning to feel uncomfortable.Everyone always proposed to others,but she never even had a decent boyfriend.

And it upset her.

She was beginning to feel slightly jealous.She wanted to be a fiancee.She wanted to brag about her loved one for as long as she wanted,but most importantly,she wanted to be loved by a man.

She couldn't help but think about Todd.That man,she thought.For some unknown reason,she liked his company.He was an interesting man with good habits,she wanted a man like that.She needed a man like him in her life.

But,he was also too mysterious for her liking.It was as if he had a dark side.He gave that impression.His style,the way he walks and talks,it's all just...bad?

“Santiago concentrate."her boss said as he passed by her desk.She snapped back into reality and began typing on her computer.

“What was that all about?Sonny never told you to concentrate!"her co-worker gushed.

“Long story."Mia responded,not looking up at the woman standing in front of her.

“Wanna spill?"she asked with a smirk.Mia looked at her and decided against it.All her co-workers had always has a thing for gossiping.They absolutely loved discussing people.

“Not really.I'm good,thanks anyways."she said in a reassuring tone.

“Suit yourself."her co-worker said in an annoyed tone.Mia rolled her eyes to herself and continued her work.

While she was busy trying to concentrate on doing her work,Todd was at the reception,speaking to the receptionist,asking to see Mia.

“I'm sorry but Ms. Santiago is busy working right now,you'll have to wait until lunchtime."she explained.

Todd blew out air and ran his hand through his entangled hair.He was frustrated.

“When is lunchtime?"he asked.

“In the next...thirty minutes."the receptionist said.

Todd nodded his head and sat on one of the empty seats.At least I'll get to see her,he thought to himself.

Thirty minutes passed by and he found himself roaming the lunchroom,looking for a certain blonde.

He eventually found her sitting at a table,all by herself,eating salad.She must really like it.

“Mia?"he called as he neared her table.She turned to face him and she was shocked.She couldn't believe that he was there with her,in front of her.

“Todd Daniels?"she asked in shock.

Todd chuckled.

“Last time I checked,that was my name."

“Wh-what are you doing here?"she asked in shock.

“I came here to see you,and I brought you proper lunch."he said as he gestured to the brown paperbag in his hand.

“Wow...thank you."

“The pleasure is all mine."he said with a smirk.He sat down next to her and they began eating and talking about random things.

Mia noticed her co-workers staring at them and commenting about it too,but she could care less.

She simply wanted to enjoy the moment and have fun with the man she is with no doubt falling for.

“Todd,that was just,wow."she said as they walked out of the lunchroom.

“I know."he said,rubbing the back of his head.

“Thank you."she said as she wrapped her arms around his neck.He hugged her back,not hesitating.It was an innocent hug to her,but not to him.

All he could think about was her breasts pressed to his chest and his manhood pressed to her lower stomach.

He tried his hardest to not go hard on her,and take her right there on the spot.

She broke away,too soon,he thought and she took a step backward.They lost all the physical contact.

“I have to get back to work,"she said nervously,“goodbye Todd."

He watched as she walked away,he watched her leave him standing in the entrance door.

But,he couldn't complain.He had fun,and he was more than satisfied about what happened.

His plan was working.
