Chapter 6

Before the part let's clear out all the confusions shall we!!!!!

1. Manik Malhotra and Mukti Malhotra are real sibling. Same with Alya Malhotra and Cabir Malhotra.
Alya and Cabir are Manik's Uncle's children and they all live together.

2. Mukti is the eldest among the four then comes Alya who is 3 months elder than Manik and then comes cabir.
Therefore right now in the story Mukti is in 10th standard
Alya and Manik are in 9th standard
Cabir is in 7th standard.

3. Abhimanyu is Mukti's best friend hence friends with Manik and Cabir!

4. Dhruv is Manik's classmate and are buddies!

5.Maya, Zoya, Nandani, Sanket, Navya and Cabir are all in the same class!

6. Nandani and Sanket has known each other since they were in lower kindergarten. They are best friends and their relation will be much clear in this and other coming parts!

7. There are many others introductions to come so keep it clear.

Nandani went towards Manik's group which made the girls' eyes widen. This was also noticed by Cabir who looked away seeing Nandani coming up. Nandani reached the boys which were noticed by Abhimanyu, Dhruv, and Manik. She quitely greeted everyone before turning to Manik  who raised his eyes looking at her.

Nandani: Can I talk to you for a min?

She said with a serious voice. Manik looked at his watch and nodded. They went to a distance that was equal to both the boys and girls who were looking at them curiously. They both turned a few other eyes towards them, but at that moment Nandani didn't notice a single thing.

Manik: yeah tell me?

Manik initiated the conversation. Nandani looked at his face and then looked down and said,

Nandani: I don't want you to know this from somewhere else so I am telling you...

Manik nodded at her statement gesturing her to continue.

Nandani: I like you Manik......................BHAIYA.

Nandani's eyes widened when she heard herself. She mentally slapped her innumerable times. But what shocked her after that was Manik's reply,

Manik: haan toh? (yes so?)

Nandani looked at him confused. She had no idea what to do or say now after THIS awkward situation.

Nandani: Hann toh bus yehi? (so??? that's it)

Manik: Bus? (that's it?)

Nandani: Haan? (yes?)

Manik: okay!

And he went away. Nandani kept looking at him thinking about what had just happened. She walked back to the group and Navya asked her as soon as she came close,

Navya: what did he say?

Nandani: Haan toh!

Trio: Huh!!

Nandani: he said "haan toh"

Maya: Is he mad or what?

Nandani: I don't know! Just leave it!

She said sighing. Her face fell and her eyes seemed like about to cry at any time.

Zoya: What happened in the morning?

Nandani sniffed and told the entire conversation that happened.

On the other side, Manik casually went towards the boys and Abhimanyu asked him,

Abhimanyu: What happened?

Manik: huh? Nothing!

They looked at him confused.

Dhruv: what do you mean by that?

Manik: leave it, Dhruv! I am going for my duty.

Before Manik could leave Cabir said,

Cabir: She likes him and just proposed to him, or more like told him that she likes him! Right, Bhai?

Manik looked at him not shocked. He knew there was something that Cabir knew after Navya came that day. He simply nodded and went away. The other two boys were quite surprised about it but had nothing to say. Nandani saw him leaving and sighed and left, behind him, to go to her class.

She passed him and went inside her class. She had no idea whether to cry or go slap Manik for his stupid reply but she took some deep breaths and calmed herself. Soon the class started again and the games period came. As promised, Sanket stayed with Nandani waiting for her to say something. She sat with Sanket in the corner of the football ground. She was about to start when she saw the students of Manik's class coming out and so did Manik and Dhruv. They started playing with the boys in her class. Nandani ignored him as the flashes of the lunch period came to her mind and she told everything that happened in the last year to Sanket.

Sanket: And you didn't tell me?

He shouted, loud enough for a few boys to hear and they turned to look at them. She looked down at her lap when some of them came up to the duo and started talking to them asking Sanket what happened that he shouted and all. Nandani just passed them a smile and kept quiet while Sanket sent them away joking something and sat back beside her.

Nandani: I never wanted to hide things from you! It was just that last year so many things changed we got into a new class and around new people. I was alone here even though you had some friends and I don't know! I guess after sitting with Navya I kind of got my comfort in him(she said looking at Manik who was playing in front of her) we both were trying to fit in, in this new whatever. I...

She sighed and kept her head in her hands. Sanket sighed roamed his hands at her back and said,

Sanket: I know and I understand okay? It's just that, Nandani even though I have many friends around me I only have you who I can come up with knowing nothing has changed and I still don't want to change those things! You know what I am saying right?

Nandani just nodded at his words and looked at him smiling for the first time. Sanket just bumped his fist with her and then said,

Sanket: can I go?

Nandani shook her head in despair and just asked him to go away. Sanket quickly kissed her head and made faces making her laugh and left to play. Nandani stood up saw him playing for 5 minutes and then started walking to the other side of the ground on the sidewalk. She was lost in her thoughts when she heard Sanket,

Sanket: NANDANI!!! MOVE ASIDE!!

Nandani looked towards the ground to see a ball coming towards her at speed. She went numb and before it could hit her, Manik came in between stopping the ball. Nandani opened her eyes to see Manik breathing heavily and looking at her, sweat falling from his head through his face and down his neck.

Nandani looked back at him and said,

Nandani: thanks!

Manik: Go away!

Nandani looked for 5 sec and went towards the girls who saw the entire thing. Nandani went and sat with them quietly.

The day finally came to an end and she knew that this has to be the worst school day of her entire life!

Cabir didn't talk or even looked at her the entire day, Sanket was sitting with her and talking to her about something or another and so did the girls.

It was the end of the day but still not the end of the story! And their story has not even started to be honest!
