Chapter 37

Manik soon got a call after settling Nandani. He looked at the caller ID and then at Nandani and stepped out of the room to talk after showing her two fingers. He went out of the room and picked up the call.

Manik: Yes sir?

Officer: Hello Manik! The arrest warrant is ready when do you think we can go?

Manik: I will just talk to Sanket and I guess we can go in 15-20 mins?

Officer: That will be fine with me! I will see you there

Manik thanked him and hung the call-to-call Sanket,

Manik: When will you come?

Sanket: I was just leaving why? Is Nandani, okay?

Manik: she is fine! The officer just called we can go there in 15-20 mins!

Sanket: I will there by then!

Manik nodded and went back inside. Nandani saw him enter and raised an eyebrow asking,

Nandani: What was that about?

Manik: Nothing important! Why don't you read a book?

He said going towards his library.

Nandani: Manik I would love to read some but all you have is medical books here and I rather read medical in one of the stories than directly from books!

Manik: as far as I know and I have gathered from the last few years, I came to know you love noting and stuff like that?

He said sitting down on the bed facing her.

Nandani: well, you gathered the right information but it was not absolutely right!

Manik: What am I missing then?

Nandani: It's more about highlighters, sticky notes, markers, and stuff like that! You won't understand!

Manik nodded and got up. He kept a small study table in front of her and took one of his medical books which looked pretty new to her and gave it to her. He then went towards his table and took an entire drawer and kept it beside her making Nandani's eyes shine. She squealed loudly looking at them and then at Manik,

Nandani: When did you get these?

Manik: Well, I have been collecting them for quite some time. Is this the thing you had in mind?

Nandani: Yes, yes yes! You know I always wanted to have these. Actually, all types of these. I told you about the library that I want in my new house, right?? I want to have an entire shelf where I can keep different types of markers, highlighter pens, sticky notes, and stuff like these. Oh my god!! I can't believe this; I am seeing this! And I am touching all this stuff!!!! In real life.

Manik went close to her while she was busy checking all the stuff in the drawer and said,

Manik: So, do you think that I understand you now?

Nandani looked back at him and said,

Nandani: Better than anyone in this world actually.

Manik smiled at her and went back to sit straight and said,

Manik: so, get on to work. I want you to make notes from this book. I guess you are good at that and use these fancy things so that it is better for me to understand!

Nandani And why aren't you doing this stuff knowing that you are the one going to learn it anyway?

Manik: well because I don't like... all this girly stuff. All I want is notes to memorize things from, and I don't have time to read the entire book. Now that you... my lady, are on bed rest you have the world's time to do this thing with all your fancy new devices. You make notes and I will learn them by heart in the night! How does that sound?
