Chapter 45

Nandani closed her eyes when she heard the Judge give the final verdict. She kept her eyes closed for a moment when the judge got up to leave. Everyone stood and waited for him to leave. As soon as he left Nandani sat back in her place with her head bent down. She soon felt a few arms wrapping around her body. She got up and hugged the first person when she was hugged from behind. She soon broke the hug to see it was Zoya and Maya. She was then taken in a hug by Nyonika she looked behind her to see Manik standing with a smile. Soon everyone hugged her and she practically threw herself on Manik wrapping her arms around his neck and asking him,

Nandani: Are you still angry?

Manik: I can never be angry at you!

Nandani broke the hug and smiled at him while others planned a party for her winning, before she could say anything her mother came to her with her Maternal Grandmother. She turned to them and her grandmother came forward to hug her but she stepped back. She then said,

Nandani: I am sorry I cannot do it! I cannot stand beside a person who took 26 years to stand for herself. I cannot do it!

Nandani's mother looked down not able to face her. She turned to the other side while everyone else stood there silent when her Maternal Grandmother said,

Nani: I know! I understand my child! We just came here to inform you that we both are going with your uncle to Paris. He got his job shifted there and it is paying well. We have applied for everything and once the divorce is finalized, we will leave.

Nandani nodded and said,

Nandani: Tell me if you need any help with it! I am not abandoning you; I am just...

Nani: I understand beta. And that is important too.

She then turned to Nyonika and said,

Nani: Thank you so much beta for looking after her all this week.

Nyonika: You don't have to say that! She is just like my daughter, please be relaxed to leave her here. We all are here to look after her. But there is my one request please keep visiting her and ask her to come there now and then.

Her Nani nodded and said,

Nani: For sure, we are not turning our backs on each other. WE ARE FAMILY, no matter what!

Nandani nodded at her and cleaned her face while keeping one hand intact with her grandmother. They soon greeted them once more and left while Nandani's mother Asha just glanced at her, smiled, and left. Nandani took a deep breath and turned to the lawyer who was talking to Mr. and Mrs. Singh, Sanket's parents. She went to them by glancing at the other side to see her grandmother (father's mother) crying while others were trying to calm her down. As she reached the lawyer she said,

Nandani: Thank you so much for all the help, sir.

Lawyer: No problem beta! You are very close to Mr. Singh. I had to help you!

Nandani: Sir about your fees?

Lawyer: Nandani like I said before beta, you are close to Mr. Singh and I wanted to fight this case without any fees. I know you can pay for it but I don't want it beta! Try and understand!

Nandani nodded and thanked him again. They all were leaving still talking about the party when Nandani said,

Nandani: Hold your horses' people. We will go and party also but after my apartment is fully furnished. What say?

Cabir: Nandani doesn't try and save money! Let's go to Sanket's and party na!

Nandani: Yrr cabir please na! I really want us to get together when my house is furnished. See the work has already started there, they are fixing stuff on the walls and pipes, etc., and they will paint tomorrow and the day after. Then all the furniture will come and I will set it. So, let's party on Saturday? What say? Even Sanket can join us by then, he can walk with a stick and come!
