Chapter 30

Nandani came down after changing and she sat in the living room with others and was busy on her phone talking to Sanket and figuring out how to surprise their friends. It was after 5 minutes she came down when she got talking with others. As they all were talking one of her uncles asked her,

Uncle: So what is your plan now?

Nandani: Well as of now, I am searching for a new job may be in Noida.

Uncle: other than that?

Nandani: what do you want to say, uncle?

Uncle: Like about getting married and all?

Nandani: I just turned 24, last month Uncle! Why do you think I will get married so quickly?

That's when her dad jumped into the conversation.

Dad: So what are you going to do now?

Nandani: Well I am not going to stay here if you are worried about that!

Dad: Seriously Nandani! What have you decided?

Nandani: As I said, I am going to find a job! I will most probably get it from my previous job, I am also thinking to move out and buy a flat somewhere owning it will be very far from here but still in Delhi.

Dad: Buy a flat?? Do you even know what is the cost of the flat here?

Nandani: It won't be more than 60 lakhs?

Dad: do you even have that kind of money?

Nandani: What do you think I was doing the last two years? Enjoying my life in Mumbai?

Dad: I don't know! Knowing that you were in a relationship and you were living with a boy?

Nandani: What??

Dad: What? What wrong did I say?

Nandani got up after listening to this which gained others' attention who were till now listening to the conversation in the background as Nandani said,

Nandani: You think I am in a relationship with Sanket? And I was there in Mumbai so that I could spend time with him?

Dad: what else could be the reason?

Nandani looked at her mom who was standing in the corner and asked her,

Nandani: Mom do you also think so?

Mom: Nandani let's leave that and come to have dinner.

Nandani: no wait! I am asking you something! (Her mother just started looking here and there but didn't reply) That is the reason that you (she said pointing to her uncle) were asking me about my marriage plans.

She looked at others and said made an unbelievable face as she said,

Nandani: 아 진짜 !! (ah Really!!) (she said under her breath) Oh my god! You guys are unbelievable!

She was going away when her father said,

Dad: why are you running away now? Now we know what work you were doing there when we thought that you were working!

Nandani turned and screamed from the stairs and said,

Nandani: I was working my ass off when you think I was enjoying my time with my boyfriend.

She said coming toward them

Nandani: I was working three jobs to get money so that I can move out of this house and live independently. All those times when I didn't pick up your phone or said I was busy, were because I was working in my office. And the person who you guys probably think I had sex with is my best friend who took care of me there, and helped me survive. God, you guys are unbelievable.
