Chapter 34

After he went Abhimanyu looked at Sanket and said,

Abhimanyu: I am really sorry for not listening to you.

Sanket: Arre Bhaiya what are you saying? I know you had no idea about what is going on in Nandani's life so...

Abhimanyu smiled at him and they both went in to see an anxious Mukti sitting there. As soon as she saw them, she asked them what happened to which the boys shared a look and then shook their heads in 'no'. Mukti sighed and sat beside Nandani while Abhimanyu stood near her and Sanket sat on a recliner kept there.

On the other hand, Manik came back to society and went straight to the president's house. He rang the bell and waited there. The president, Mr. Sinha, came out confused. Manik greeted him and said,

Manik: Sir I am Mr. Raj Malhotra's son.

Mr. Sinha: House no 438?

Manik: yes sir!

Mr. Sinha: Tell me how come you are here in the morning?

Manik: Sir I wanted you to look up some camera videos of lane 2, houses 170-180.

Mr. Sinha: Why what happened?

Manik: Sir we are reporting a Harassment case and we are pretty sure that something might be there in the recording for us to use.

Mr. Sinha: Harassment case, against whom?

Manik: Against the Murty's by their granddaughter.

Mr. Sinha: What? Mr. Murty?

Manik: yes sir! His granddaughter is currently hospitalized at City Hospital.

Mr. Sinha: That is surprising. It doesn't look like they could do something like that.

Manik: Well, we thought the same. But Mrs. Murty, umm... Nandani's mother told us that it was all true.

Mr. Sinha: hmm... Let's go. I will call someone to check them.

Manik: Thank you, sir.

They both soon left the house and went to the society's office to check the same. After a few more questions they found the video of Nandani leaving the house. Manik asked them to revert it and zoom in on Nandani's house trying to see if he could find something when he saw her father dragging her from the inside to the outside part of the house from her hair. He remembered it to be the living room. This was 40 minutes before Nandani came out of the house. He could see some commotion happening even though Nandani or her father were not visible, but her other family members could be seen shouting and trying to stop them but only a few came forward. After almost 23 minutes they could see someone dragging someone into the room. After about 2 minutes Manik saw Nandani going upstairs and into her room. After 10 minutes, a cab came outside the house and after 5 minutes of that Nandani came out sat in the car, and left. After Nandani left he saw her aunts leaving by cab and a car parked outside in 20 minutes. He saw her mother roaming in the room on the 1st floor for about an hour after that she called up someone and soon left the house.

Manik got back from the screen and said,

Manik: If you don't mind Mr. Sinha can I have the recording's 2 copies?

Mr. Sinha: sure. Please wait for a few minutes. 

He called someone and soon a boy came in who Manik recognized as his right hand and the person who was most familiar with the society people. The boy made 2 copies. Manik thanked Mr. Sinha and went home from there.

He entered and soon dashed with his father.

Manik: Dad!

Manik's dad: where were you?
