Chapter 43

He soon got up from the bed leaving Nandani in the same position. He went back inside the washroom quietly and locked it from inside. Nandani here took a deep breath and got up and tried to get a hold of her phone. She looked at her side and then the other to find her phone and got confused. Her mind suddenly sparked and she looked at the washroom and went towards it and said while knocking,

Nandani: Manik! Do you have my phone?

Manik (from inside): yes! And nice password!

Nandani grunted reminding herself of the stupid password that was his birthdate. She again knocked and said,

Nandani: Manik give me my phone back! MANIK!

Listening to her shouting Cabir, Alya, Mukti, and Abhimanyu came into the room.

Nandani: MANIK I AM ASKING YOU THE LAST TIME GIVE ME MY PHONE!

Manik opened the door with his teeth clenching and eyes full of anger. He threw the phone at her face which she caught. Nandani gulped looking at him knowing he came to know. Manik glared at her and then went out of the room!

Everyone got out of the way for him to leave and then looked at Nandani waiting for her to say something but she left behind him. She went downstairs and saw Manik sitting with Raj and Nyonika while his head was kept in Nyonika' s lap and she was ruffling his hair. She passed them a smile and went out of the house not giving them a chance to ask something.

She went to the park and sat down on the same bench where they both use to sit and talk once. She was lost in the same thoughts when her phone rang. She saw the caller ID and picked it up.

Nandani: Hello?

It was Nandani's Eldest aunt, Kajol Singh on the phone.

Kajol Singh: Hello Nandani? How are you beta?

Nandani: Good.

Kajol Singh: You don't sound good? Are those people not treating you well?

Nandani: No they are!

Kajol Singh: That is good then! I wanted to ask you something!

Nandani: Yes please go ahead!

Kajol Singh: Beta tomorrow is the first day of the case in court. We were not able to get your father out on bail because of the accusations your friends and lawyer put on him. Will you be coming tomorrow beta? You will be withdrawing the case right?

Nandani: I will be there tomorrow!

Kajol Singh: Oh that's good! We are all really worried about you! It was supposed to be a family matter friends made it known to all. We can sort it out among ourselves, couldn't we?

Nandani: hmm.

Kajol Singh: Okay I will see you tomorrow don't be worried, okay?

Nandani: yeah!

With this, her aunt hung up the call. It's been more than a week since her aunt was calling her asking her to take the case back because her father was already repenting of her mistakes. She said that it was not a big fault that he did he was just trying to educate her about something but now he regrets doing it the way he did. She added that her friends made such a case that they are not able to get him out and her grandmother's health is deteriorating. She feels it's her last time going and wants her entire family by her side including her son and granddaughter. It was some of the messages that they sent to each other and the calls from her that Nandani thinks Manik saw which made him so angry. She now had nothing to say in that matter other than knowing one thing, she can't make him understand his stuff and fight again.
