Chapter 49

Manik's POV

FLASHBACK

11 years and 6 months back

Nandani came towards me with a very funny face and even though I ignored her I still chuckled looking at it under my breath. She took a deep breath and said looking at me if she can talk, I looked at my watch and nodded arrogantly.

We went a little away and both my and her friends were looking at us when I asked what happened and she said,

Nandani: I don't want you to know this from somewhere else so I am telling you....

I nodded asking her silently to continue, knowing very well what was coming my way. Of course, I was not stupid, I knew that she liked me. All those glances those crimson cheeks whenever I use to walk by, her being there, ALWAYS, when we had our games or lunch periods, her watching us from the window when we were playing., I had an idea about it but then when said it,

Nandani: I like you Manik................................. Bhaiya

I chuckled under my breath. Bhaiya like seriously? Did she just say bhaiya while proposing to me? I looked at her and had her eyes closed while cursing herself inaudibly and I said,

Me: Haan toh (Yeah, so?)

She looked at me with wide eyes while I tried to keep my face straight. I was about to laugh looking at her opening and closing her face like a fish when she said,

Nandani: Haan toh bus yehi!

I smiled at her which she didn't notice and I went away giving her no reply. I got back to my group still smiling to myself when Cabir asked me what happened and even though I tried to shrug the topic he told everyone to which I shrugged.

I got up from my bed while thinking about the same day. The day when Nandani first time proposed to me. Things would have been so different na if that time I would have not overthought the fact that she is still a child and knows no difference between a relationship between lovers and siblings.

I sighed and looked at the frame with my and Nandani's pictures from the day she left the house. I sighed and went to take a bath to go to the hospital.

He closed his eyes when another memory came to his mind,

10 years and 7 months

Ahh—the headache since morning is killing me, with all that Abhimanyu's words he said. What was it? If I am not interested in her why am I leading her? When did I do that? I mean I didn't ask her to roam around me. I hope things change from today.

I went down to the ground and saw everyone sitting on one of the seating at the other end. I went towards them and after greeting everyone I sat there and looked around, to see Nandani with her friend! Or more like Boyfriend!

Forget it! I saw them both talking and I kept looking at her! Is it just me or did Nandani actually get fat in a month? I was about to avert my eyes when her friend pointed at me and said something when Nandani turned to me and looked surprised. We had a small eye contact after which I diverted. The back of my mind was still stuck there. I looked back to see her friend! WHAT IS HIS NAME!?
HE HELD HER AND JERKED HER TOWARDS HIM!

A fit of sudden anger came up to me and my nose flared up in it. Nandani said something while crying. I got angry at them knowing they were talking about me because of which she is crying.

I looked around trying to spot someone useful when I saw Navya passing by,
