Usually, Jeno didn't really have any bad days. But he was a human too, and every human has bad days once in a while.
It was one of those days. nothing seemed to go right for him. He had got late for practice and had tripped a few times. He received a scolding from the manager because he was late, and he sprained his ankle while dancing.
On such days, he'd want some time alone. But today, he just wanted to be with one person. Kei. He was really close to her and it was only her who could understand him, except for Jaemin.
And so, she was there, right beside him in the practice room, quietly listening to his rants. She had a soft smile on her face, and one arm on his shoulder, her thumb caressing the nape of his neck.
Once he was done ranting he just sighed and looked at her.
"You know I'm not that good at comforting, but I'm good at listening, right?" She said, and he nodded. "But you know I'll always be here for you, right?"
He nodded again.
"Kei." He called out. "I don't know if it's a really good time, but to be honest my mind's a mess right now, and I just want to let it all out."
"Just do it, Jeno." She said. "I'll listen."
"Promise me you won't hate me?" He said.
"I've never seen you so nervous..." She said. "Calm down, it's okay. I won't."
"It's just that...I really enjoy spending time with you and you really have become someone very special to me and...I don't know if you noticed, but I really like you." He said.
"Oh, thank God, I thought I was the only one." She breathed out.
"What-" He asked, flinching when he felt a pair of lips on his. The kiss lasted a few seconds before Kei pulled away.
"I like you too, Jeno." She said. "It's just that...I don't know what the others will say."
"Oh." He nodded. "But who cares what the others say? I like you and you like me, isn't that enough?"
"Yeah...we could always keep this secret too, right?" She asked.
"Of course, we can." He nodded. "Can you kiss me again?" He asked.
She chuckled, pulling him by his collar. They closed their eyes as soon as their lips met. His hands went up to her hair, grabbing her face as she tried to pull him closer.
"Oh, my God."
A voice made them jump apart.
"What did I just witness?" It was Jaemin and Eun.
"Oh, God we've got a third couple." Eun squealed, jumping excitedly.
"No one. Can know." Kei said, breathing heavily. Her lipstick was all smudged and Jeno's collar was scrunched up.
"Can't promise anything." Jaemin laughed.
