"Guys!" Mal complains, "Come on, the show starts in an hour, and we need to get there before the crowds!"
Asher laughs, slinging his O2 concentrator over his shoulder. "Hold your horses, I'll be right there."
I grin at him from where I stand in the doorway, my purse draped over my forearm.
Despite my aversion to fancy clothing, I was told to dress up. I packed a strapless white dress that falls down to my knees, a pair of black heels, and a black leather handbag to match. It's more uncomfortable than most anything I've ever worn, but seeing the light on Asher's face when he saw me, that made it worth it.
"You both look amazing!" My mom tells us as Asher emerges from our room, shutting the door lightly behind us. He's dressed in a navy blue suit, his hair slicked back and gelled to a solid, or at least that's what it looks like.
I know that sometimes he gets insecure about his appearance, but he really is an attractive young man, despite the tubes and wires.
"Guys!" Mal groans, flopping his arms in the direction of the elevator. "Come. On!"
Andy grins at me, his ice blue eyes full of light I haven't seen from him in a while as he hobbles down the hall after my brother, winking at me.
I don't think I've ever seen this side of him, the giddly, childish side where the worry is almost nonexistent, like there's no reason for it.
I like this side of him.

The auditorium is packed with people, milling around, creating chatter and conversation about the show at hand. Smiles cover most everyone's faces, give or take the family members and friends who were brought here against their will.
Ashers eyes spark a light as his eyes land on the stage, the curtains closed, music playing faintly in the background as he lets out a small, excited gasp.
I grin at him, mussing his hair as we make our way to our seats.
"Are you excited?" I ask him, filing into the tenth row to get to our seats. He gives me a giddy nod, a smile plastered so tightly on his face that nothing could pull it away.
The audience quiets quickly as the lights dim, the music grows louder, Spotlights landing on a brunette girl standing in the center of the stage.
"Little town, it's a quiet village, Every day like the one before."
Asher let's out a light gasp, his hand falling into my open palm.
I wish it could be like this forever.
