*Three years later*
The wind is cold against my face as I duck inside a small coffee shop, the smell of espresso and worn books instantly calming my senses.
One of my favorite coffee shops, P.A.M Coffee and Books. The shop that Andy and Mal opened after Portland died. It was her make-a-wish to open her own coffee and bookstore, so they did.
About ten dark wood tables are scattered around the room, quotes carved into the wood. A huge bookshelf lines the wall opposite of the counter, filled with some of the best classics, plus Portlands collection of books. Five feet apart, six of crows, where the crawdads sing, Percy Jackson, We were liars, all of the twisted tales books.
All the drinks and treats are named after book characters too. For example, Katniss's peppermint latte, or Stellas' truffle sandwich. Some of Portlands' favorites.
I come here at least once a week, I guess maybe in her memory. Same old people, same old drinks. It comforts me.
But today, there's someone new. A girl about my age with her laptop opened in front of her, neon red-framed glasses resting low on her tan nose. She's really beautiful honestly, with piercing blue eyes and olive colored skin. She's dressed in a white t-shirt with a pair of black leggings, a pink, orange and yellow cardigan hung over her shoulders.
I don't know what comes over me, but I force myself to walk over to her.
"Hey," I say, waving. I wait for her to flinch, or back away when she catches sight of me, but her face stays neutral.
"Do you need something?" She asks, her voice soft as she pushes her glasses up her nose.
I shake my head, smiling. "No, uh, You're just, um really pretty. And I just wanted to um..."
I bite my lip, grimacing at her.
"I'm Summer," She says, offering me her hand. She has a tattoo on the back, a scribbled sun, like the one that Portland drew on my hand before she died.
Summer.
If that's not a sign, I don't know what is.
"I, I'm Asher." I stutter, shaking her hand loosely. "I've, uh, never seen you before."
She laughs, pushing a strand of hair out of her eyes. "I just moved to town."
She gestures to the chair opposite from her, implying I should sit down. I do.
I hear someone clear their throat behind me and I turn my head, meeting the eyes of Mal and Andy, both giving me a thumbs up.
And I know it's just a figment of my imagination, but I swear, I see Portland standing right next to them, giving me confidence to keep the promise I made to her all that time ago.

And that's the end! It's so crazy that I'm finished already! This has been one of my favorite books I've ever written, and I hope you all enjoy it! This story has been my heart and soul, and I know that Portland and Asher will always be some of my favorite characters.
Love you Guys!
