"Wait... does that mean Lady Alyssa is no longer the Crown Princess?"

I quietly smiled to myself, hearing the maids whispering about me no longer being the Crown Princess.

Luckily, the royal family had readily agreed to end the engagement... maybe because they never fully accepted Alyssa as the future queen in the first place. It was clear they had someone else in the Duchy they preferred.

Father had even tried to convince me to reconsider when I begged him to break the engagement a few days ago. I was firm in my decision, and he had no choice but to accept my request because it was the first and only time Alyssa had ever asked for anything.

Alyssa didn't like asking for things. She always believed that nothing was impossible and was willing to do anything herself to achieve her goals.

And I was the same way... we had similar personalities, which must be why I adapted to her life so easily.

The main villain of the story tried to kill the heroine because he wasn't satisfied with her... the only one he truly wanted was the villainess of the story, Amelia Claire Silverton.

The one who seemed to have everything... He was even happy when he found out about my death, that she had gotten rid of me just to take my place as the Prince's fiancée.

But that didn't happen because our parents didn't agree... because what if she died too, like I did?

This made her angry at them, and she started to control society, going against her own family.

But it didn't end well for her after the heroine appeared... nothing good ever happened on her side of the story.

In the end, she was executed because she tried to poison the future Crown Princess using the same methods she had used on the original Alyssa.

I looked up at the starry night as I walked through the busy streets of the capital and decided to go back home.
