I was slowly gaining consciousness and heard what sounded like two men talking. I just laid there with my eyes still closed.
"What are we supposed to do if she doesn't wake up," I heard one say. He had a deep baritone voice.
"I do not wish to think that, Cassius. All I know is he is going to pay," the other man said to the man I assume is Cassius.
"William, what do you have with this girl. For all you know she could be trouble," Cassius told him. Whoever this William was I had no idea who he was, so why would he want something to do with me.
"That does not matter, now please go, I need to think," William told him and just like that there was a couple footsteps and I heard a door close. "This cannot be right. The prophesy must be mistaken."
A prophesy? What was this maniac talking about also what am I doing here. I sat up and looked around the room. It was a decent size bedroom, with a queen size bed, a wardrobe a crossed from it and a little sitting area with two chairs and a little coffee table. There was a man sitting in one of the chairs, must be William I thought to myself. He had his head in his hands so he hasn't noticed that I woke up.
He seemed like a tall man with broad shoulders and his dark hair was in a handsome fade. Just then he looked up and realized I was awake. He just stared at me for a moment. His eyes were so dark they were almost black and I couldn't help but sink into them. He had sharp facial features and a little stubble on his face like he hadn't shaved in about a week. "Abigail," he said it almost like a question.
It snapped me back to reality. "Um, yeah. That's me. Um, how do you know that," I asked him. "Also where am I, and what am I doing here. Where are my friends. Oh god. I hope they're okay." William winced at the word god but I ignored it. I started looking around the room for my phone. William was just staring me at like i was the strangest thing he's ever seen.
Thankfully I found it right next to me on the pillow. It blinked on and there was fifty calls from Emma and a bunch of messages from her, Jessica and Derik. I quickly called Emma and she answered almost immediately. "Abby, oh god, are you okay? Are you hurt? Where are you," she asked before I could say anything.
"I'm fine, I think. I mean I feel fine, I feel great actually. I honestly have no idea where I am but this guy saved my life," Also is Derik okay?" I asked her.
"Yes, he's good. He was just more worried about you, we all were. When will you be home," she asked.
"Um, that's a good question. I guess I'll be home as soon as I can but I gotta figure out what's going on. I'll call you back as soon as I can," with that we both hung up. I looked back to William who was no standing by the edge of the bed. "So, what am I doing here," I asked him.
"You were attacked and needed medical attention," he said as he lightly grabbed my chin to look at my face. I tried pulling back but he his grip tighten.
"If I needed medical attention then why am I not in the hospital," I asked he finally let go and sat down on the side of the bed and faced me.
"Please try to understand, what happened to you was not supposed to happen. Those forsaken should have easily killed you. How you survived is beyond me," he said. He grabbed my arm and started feeling for a pulse and gave a puzzled look like I didn't have one or something.
"The what," I asked confused. "Also, what are you do-mmhm?" I tried to say but he was forcing his finger in my mouth. Next thing I know I felt a drop of blood hit my tongue. It was warm and sweet. Also why did I enjoy that drop of blood so much?
"This is what I'm trying to figure out," he said taking his finger out of my mouth and I could feel sharp knife like teeth where my canine teeth are. "It is very rare when someone wakes up strong, are you hungry?"
"What are you talking about? Am I hungry? No I'm not, I don't feel like I need to eat, I don't even feel like I have to use the bathroom and who knows when the last time I went pee." I said to him. It might have come out a bit harsh but I just wanted to know what was going on. "Can you at least tell me who you are?"
"Of course," he showed a little smile before he continued. "I'm William Wayland."
"That's it, just William Wayland," he nodded his head. "Okay, well, I think I gotta get going then. I have no idea what day or time it is but I think anything is better than being here." I was about to get up but he sat me back down with a gentle push.
"It is Wednesday, November third. Also you cannot leave yet. There is still so much examination to do, also you will not understand how to survive without hunting," the way he said hunting made me cringe. I started getting up anyway and realized I didn't have my own clothes besides a worn oversized mens t shirt, it must have been his that he put on me. That means he must have undressed me, eww.
"Where are my clothes ," I asked him feeling embarrassed. "Also what are you talking about with hunting, you know what. I don't care. Im leaving I think I'll manage with eating." I started heading out the bedroom door trying to find my way to the front. I went down a long flight of stairs and passed the kitchen. Next to the kitchen there was a door open that must have been the garage, which was filled with many unique cars and some basic ones.
I grabbed the first set of keys hanging on the key rack next to the door, pushed the unlock button and the lights blinked on a Toyota Supra. I got in and pushed the garage door button and headed out once it opened. This probably counted as grand theft auto, but what he did to me makes up for it. Yeah he may have saved my life but he's also a creep. I thankfully remembered to grab my phone and used the gps to get home.
