As the sun set for the day I slowly woke up. I sat up and looked around the room. In was sitting in the same bed I woke up in the last time I was in Williams home. There was just different sheets on the bed this time. I got and noticed I was wearing a baggy mens shirt, 'must be Williams' I thought. My clothes from the day before were sitting in one of the chairs in the room and then I realized William must have put me in his shirt and put me to bed. I don't know if I should be thankful or grossed out at the fact that he did this not once, but twice.
I found my phone sitting with my clothes and noticed all the calls and texts from Emma and Derik. Without hesitation I called Emma. I heard the dial tone twice and she picked up. "Abby, are you okay? You didn't come home last night," she said worriedly.
"I'm okay, I'm at Williams. He kinda saved me again last night. When I get home I'll explain more," I told her.
"Alright, as long as you're safe I don't care where you are or who you're with," she said sounding like a mother.
"If anything else goes on and I'm not gonna be home later I'll call and let you know," I told her and we said goodbye and hung up the phone. I got dressed into my clothes and was about to find my way to the kitchen when there was a light knock on the door. "Come in," I said and William poked his head in before stepping into the room.
"Good evening," he said walking closer to me.
"Thank you for last night," I said. "If I'm not in bed before the sun comes up I just drop wherever I am."
"You're still young, within time you will be able to go from sleeping thirteen hours to only sleeping eight hours," he said.
"Well I hope it happens soon," I joked. "Also where is the kitchen, I'm very thirsty and need some water." I said walking towards him and the door.
"Abigail," he said slowly. The way he says my name gives me butterflies in my stomach. "It is not water you need to help your thirst."
"Please don't tell me it's what I'm thinking," I said giving him a pleading look. "If it's blood, you might as well just Kill me for good."
"I apologize Abigail, vampires need blood to survive. How you have survived this long with out just proves how special you really are," he said softly. "No other vampire can go longer than a day without feeding, even a vampire that has been around for a hundred years or more, like me."
"That's crazy though," I tried telling him, but he didn't seem like he was falling for it. "What makes me so special?"
"Well, that is what Cassius and I are trying to figure out," he admitted to me. "Until then, it is dark out and we both need to feed. Now come along and I'll explain how most of us vampires do that." He said starting to walk out the door hoping I was going to follow him, sure enough I did.
"So, is this going to be like vampire 101 training," I said following him down the stairs. His home was a pretty big beautiful Victorian style house with lots of antique furniture.
"I suppose you could call it that if you must," he said now walking into the garage and grabbing the set of keys for his truck. All these beautiful cars and he seems to always choose his Toyota Tundra. He unlocks it and opens the passenger side door for me. I give him a sweet smile and I get in and buckle up. He closed the door and made his way to the drivers side. I had no idea where we were going or what feeding intended, but I was soon to find out.

We made our way Sullivan street, which was known as the bad neighborhood in Claremont. We pulled down by the paper mill and he parked the truck in a dark corner of the parking lot and turned off the engine. "What are we doing here," I asked him. I hated this part of town so I didn't know what to expect."There is very few places in the Claremont and Newport area that is best to feed. I prefer to travel to Lebanon but, it is easier here with less people to possibly see you," he said like this was a normal thing.
I sighed, "Alright, where do we start?" I asked.
"First we must wait, a lot of people come down here around this time to handle drug deals, once it is over and one of the cars leaves first we will make our move," he said explaining to me slowly. "Tonight I will handle most of it, but you need to make sure you're paying attention."
"I'm a fast learner," I said confidently. At least I hoped I was feeling confident, my nerves were starting to get the better of me.
"Perfect, then this should be easy." He said. We sat there waiting for about twenty minutes with nothing happening besides we saw fox came out of the woods looking for food and darted back into the woods not long after.
About another ten minutes go by and a beat up old Honda comes driving up in the parking lot and shuts off his lights about a minute later an older volts wagon parks next to the other car. The drivers in the cars get out and start talking and exchanging things I assumed to be was drugs. Both of the drivers were men, they were both about average height and both looked like trouble.
The VW driver gets back in his car after the exchange and immediately drives away, but the guy in the Honda got back into his car and started counting his money. "Quietly open your door and get out but don't close the door," William told me getting out of the truck. I did as he told me and followed him. He motioned for me to stay where I was just a few feet from the car. The guy was still busy counting his money and didn't notice us.
Next thing I know William is throwing the driver side door open and ripping the man out of his car. Before the man could scream or make a noise William hit him in a pressure point causing the man to become unconscious. "Now see how I did that," he said motioning towards the spot he hit. I nodded and William pointed at a spot on the guys neck. "Right here is one of the best places to bite," again I just nodded.
This was all becoming very overwhelming. William then bit the guy in the same spot he pointed to and started drinking the guys blood. I looked away as I started to come nauseous. Just then I could smell the iron from the man's blood and I felt a sharp poke on the inside of my mouth, my fangs. "Alright, your turn," William said. I turned around and William adjusted the man so the other side of his neck was visible.
"Alright," I said nervously. I walked over to William and the man. He pointed at the spot of the guys neck again. I hesitated at first.
"You can do it, you have to do it to survive. Plus he's a bad guy," William said coaxing me. I got closer to the man's neck closed my eyes and bit his neck. I felt my sharp knife like canines sink into his skin and tasted the sweet blood as it flowed into my mouth. It didn't take long only about thirty seconds for my thirst to be completely gone. I let go of my victim and just stood there confused with how it just happened. William put the guy back into his car and came back to me and reached for my hand. I let him take it and followed him back to the truck.
Once we got back into the truck William started the engine and started driving. "Is that guy going to be okay," I asked.
"He will be perfectly fine, he won't even remember what happened," William said. "He will probably think he had a drug deal that went bad." That helped me feel better about the situation.
"So, we do this with bad guys," I asked. Everything was so strange to me, I don't know if I'm going to get used to this new life of mine.
"Yes, that is what the majority of vampires do, the good ones at least. The other good ones also have sheep." He said driving around a corner.
"What are sheep," I asked curiously.
"Sheep, are human companions that are always there when a vampire needs them. A lot of vampires choose one to three or more humans and survive off them," he said.
"Why don't you do that then," I asked. "Wouldn't that be easier."
"Easier yes, but I just do not feel right relying on one or more humans to be there when I need them," he said focusing on the road. "This way I can feed when ever I want or need to." That did make a lot sense. This guy must have done a lot of things in his life to be this good at being a vampire. Not too long later we arrived back at his Victorian home. "Just so you know, training is not over yet." He said pulling into the garage.
