Once we got back into the house I followed William into the living room and sat down on the sofa. I looked at my phone for the time and it said it was only about midnight. I also noticed all the messages I had on my phone from Derik. I stood up, "sorry, I have to call my friend back so they stop blowing up my phone," I told William and he nodded his head as I went into the hallway to call Derik. He answered on the first ring.
"Oh thank god Abby," he said sounding relived. "I didn't know if you were okay."
"Im fine, I talked to Emma earlier and told her what was going on," I told him. His little crush has been becoming a little much since the incident. He hasn't seemed to leave me alone much.
"She didn't tell me much so I was worried," he said.
"Derik, I'm fine. If I wasn't don't you think Emma would be going crazy," I asked him.
"I suppose, can you please just let me know though so I'm not worrying," he asked sounding a little heart broken.
"If I have time to tell you and Emma then I will, if not I'm only going to let her know. I've been really busy the last couple of days and need to focus on me right now," I told him. It probably sounded harsh but it's the truth.
"Alright Abby, I'll leave you be then, I just want you safe," he said and hung up afterwards. I sent Emma a quick text to explain my Derik situation. After I walked back into the living room.
"Boyfriend," William asked sitting in the chair with a book in his hands.
"No, he's just a friend that likes me more than I like him," I told him. He just nodded and motioned for me to take a seat. I sat down and crossed my legs. "So, what are you reading?"
"The vampire prophesy," he said like he was just reading a normal book.
"What is it about," I asked curiously.
"I will explain what it is when Cassius gets back," he said. "He should be back any minute, plus he is better at paying attention to the smaller details than I am."
"Alright," I said quietly and we just sat there in silence for a while. I was just scrolling through Facebook when I noticed William staring at me. I put my phone down. "Is something wrong," I asked him.
"Nothing is wrong," he said. "So, I understand that friend of yours, Derik, is not your boyfriend, is there a boyfriend though?"
"No, and I'm not looking for one," I told him. Growing up Emma always had all the guys after her, Emma is gorgeous. Me on the other hand, not so much.
"That is alright, I just did not want to have anyone get jealous that you are spending so much time with me," he said.
"Well it's a good thing there's no one," I said as Cassius walked into the living room breaking the awkward tension.
"Cassius," William said focusing his attention away from me. "Have you found out anymore information?"
"Unfortunately no, I have not," Cassius said. "I'm hoping though, that we can figure more out tonight." He said looking at me. William looked at me as well.
"Okay," I said slowly, "can you guys at least explain what this prophecy is," I asked.
"Of course," William said focusing his attention to the book still in his hands then looking back to me. "A quick summary of the prophesy is, there was a young woman, twenty five years old. She was turned into a vampire, unlike any other vampire this women holds special powers to withstand more than anyone. She is destined to take over the vampire nation and become their queen." William was looking directly into my eyes as he spoke. "You Abigail, are the only vampire that has woken up this strong, the only one that can go longer than a day without consuming blood. Is there anything else you can do that we have not seen yet," he asked.
I tried thinking, what can I do that vampires can't. Then I remembered I sleep with my curtains open during the day at home. "Um, at home I always have my curtains open, even when I'm sleeping," I said.
They both looked at me like I'm crazy.
"Are you sure the sun is hitting you while your sleeping," Cassius asked."Yes, that's actually the reason why I picked my bedroom once we moved in about three years ago, it gets the most lighting," I said. Cassius looked at William and William flipped open the book and went to a random page and read from it.
"The chosen one can handle thirst better than any other, the chosen one can handle all light and praise the lord above," he read. "All three of these you have experienced this week.
"How can I praise the lord," I asked. "Is it because I can say god?" They both flinched when I said god.
"This is what I mean Abigail. You are the chosen one," William said.
"How is this possible though. I've literally lived a mundane life until this week." I said.
"What if it has to do with your parents," Cassius asked.
"What about my parents, I don't remember them," I said.
"Didn't you say no one knew what your father did for work," Cassius asked. All these questions were starting to make my head hurt.
"Right, no one knew. I was told he was very secretive with all his work," I told them. "Also, how would my parents have anything to do with this," I asked.
"We are just trying to get as much information as we can," William said. "Maybe your father has something to do with this."
"I can try talking to my grandmother to see if she can tell me anything else now that I'm older," I said looking between both of them.
"That sounds like an excellent idea Abigail," William said. "How about you do that tomorrow and come over after, or better yet maybe we will come to your home."
"Alright, yeah, what ever is easier," I said standing up.
"Your car is in the garage, enjoy the rest of your night," William said to me. In a smug tone he added, "also tell your friend, Derik I said hello."
I just nodded and headed towards the garage. What was it with guys getting jealous of other guys? Oh well, I got in my car and home bound I was.
