I woke up in the middle of the night as my stomach twisted and turned. Something felt wrong but I couldn't quite tell what. I shook Carl's shoulder lightly and he turned to me. "What's wrong?" he blinked rapidly trying to keep his eyes open.

"I feel like something isn't right."

"You're just nervous about that happened earlier." he touched my shoulder reassuringly.

"No, it's not that. I feel like something bad is going to happen." I stood up quickly and made my way towards Judith. She lied in her crib sound asleep, and I didn't dare disturb her. She doesn't usually sleep this many hours straight and it's good for her.

"Y/n, it's okay. Just come back here and go to sleep." I found my legs moving towards Carl and I sat on the bed. He wrapped both arms around me and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "I love you." he whispered into my ear.

"I love you too."

I couldn't fall back asleep. I constantly felt sick to my stomach and nervous. I decided to go sit on the window ledge and watch outside for awhile.

I looked into the sky to see the stars twinkling just like they did when I was younger. It comforts me and brings back memories of when my father and I would look at them through telescopes. I was fascinated with the moon when I was younger and tonight was a full moon. I looked at the craters and markings on the moon and lost myself in happiness for a few moments.

The streets were dark and you could not see any light at all. I saw one walker but he wasn't harming anything and it was pointless to waste ammo on him when he had no idea humans were near. Again I drifted off watching the stars twinkle brightly over the world.

I looked down again to see the walker I had seen earlier moving quickly towards something. There was either live animal near, humans, or something startled it. I watched as it ran off into a yard but I could no longer see once it went around the corner. It was just a rabbit I told myself.

Just a rabbit.

I leaned my head on the window and slowly drifted into a faint sleep when a flashing light startled me. Instantly I hoped onto the floor and peered over the ledge. A car made its way down the road and turned into the driveway.

This houses driveway.

I froze with terror. I felt my stomach turn tightly and I ran to Carl. I violently shook him "Carl, there's someone here. I swear, go look!" I barely managed to get the words from my lips.

Carl quickly rose to his feet and looked out the window. His face turned pale and he grabbed Judith. "Get whatever you can, we have to go." he began to quietly pry open the window and I packed our things tightly into a bag. One by one we climbed through the window and onto the roofing above the porch. Slowly we made our way around until we were above the car.

Carl jumped down and I handed him Judith who was being silent. I tossed the bag of supplies down and hopped down afterwards. Quickly I rose to my feet only to be grabbed by someone from behind.

Quickly I rotated my body and drove my knife into his chest. He fell on the ground as the life poured out of him.

I'm letting him turn.

Quickly the three of us packed into the car and drove off again.

"Where are we going to go?" I asked.

"I don't know." He answered to my question.

Headlights appeared behind us and that's when I knew something bad was coming. Carl stepped on the pedal and drove faster than I ever did. A man in the car behind us shot our tire and the car began to sway back and forth. He shot the next tire and we veered off of the road and hit a tree. I placed a crying Judith in the backseat as Carl and I got out and prepared to fight.

The car drove a little ahead and 4 men appeared. They instantly began to shoot, we fired back and the constant battle went on for nearly 20 minutes until I hit one between the eyes. His lifeless body fell to the ground and pleasure surged through my body.

Pleasure from killing.

Carl stood next to me and shot another right between the eyes and he fell beside my guy. The other two panicked and hopped into their cars and drove away.

"Nice shots." Carl laughed as he high fived me.

"Thanks, you too." I smiled.

I just helped protect us. I felt strong, something I hadn't in a long time. Carl and I made our way back to the car. I opened the back door to find that Judith was gone.
