Carl and I were making our way back to Alexandria when we came upon a small group of walkers. We could handle them, so we grabbed our knives and began to drive it through each of their skulls.

Killing walkers gives me a rush. It's a strange rush, if you think deep down inside, you're taking another life. I mean not really, but they were human once. I can't think about this now or else I'm going to join them.

"What the hell is this?" Carl grabbed my hair of a walker and moved it from its face. A large W appeared and it had been carved into its head.

"I don't know, but that's sick. Is that the only one with it?" My heart began to pound as I thought about how someone carved W's into walkers, or people before they died.

"No, they all do." He responded with a worried look. I glanced at each one of them, studying the strange marking on their foreheads.

"This is really messed up. What do you think it means?" I tried to hide my worry.

"I don't know but we need to tell someone about this."

We continued to walk back and arrived at the wall. I began to climb up the wall and once I reached the top I looked around, still astonished that all these people have never dealt with the world outside. Well most of them. Half way down the wall I slipped and plummeted to the ground.

"Are you okay?" Carl yelled to me from the top of the wall.

"Yeah I just fell about 30 feet, but I'm good." I replied. I really didn't feel anything.

We began to walk towards Carl's house and I felt pain in my thigh. It went from barely noticeable to extreme in a matter of seconds. I sat down on the road and began to scream from the intense pain. Carl looked at me confused.

"My leg, I don't know what's wrong with it. It just started hurting!" I whimpered through my tears.

"Let me see it." He insisted. I turned on my side while he looked at my leg. "Oh god."

"What!? What's wrong" my leg was throbbing.

"I think when you fell, your knife stabbed your leg. It's all the way in there." I felt his hands trembling on leg and he felt for swelling.

I began to scream from the pain that returned and my vision became blurry. I was holding my head up but before I had any control my head thudded to the ground and everything went black.

Everything was still black but I heard faint voices. My ears were ringing.

"HURRY GET IT OUT! SHE COULD GET AN INFECTION!"

"WE DONT HAVE THE PROPER REMOVAL GEAR!"

"JUST PULL IT OUT!!"

It's still black, but I felt the knife forcefully come out of my leg.

"SHES BLEEDING. WE HAVE TO STOP THE BLEEDING OR SHE WILL DIE."

"CARL HAND ME YOUR SHIRT"

Everything went away again. I couldn't hear or feel anything now.

I woke up in the medical house. My leg didn't hurt as of right now. I looked to the left to see Carl sitting right beside the bed, he hasn't noticed that I'm awake yet. I looked to the left and I saw Rick.

"I'm thirsty." I managed to get the words through my lips.

Carl immediately jumped up and hugged my upper body.

"Y/n I was so scared." tears ran down his face as he talked to me.

"It's okay, I'm okay." I don't want him to worry about me.

Rick handed me a glass of water and kissed my forehead. It felt nice. He made me feel happy. More people care about me. It's a nice feeling.

"Did you tell him about the W Carl?" I mumbled.

"Yeah." Just as he was about to finish his statement Daryl ran through the doors. "We got a big problem."
