Carl and I approached the walls of Alexandria. Slowly we made our way to the top and then back down. It's crazy to think that something so small could be protecting us from death that lurks around every corner.

"Carl, Im gonna go back to my house and take a shower. I have walker guts in my hair." He laughed a little and then his face straightened "Im sorry that's not funny." I could see him holding back another laugh. I playfully punched him in the shoulder and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek.

I walked along the paved streets feeling much more confident than I had ever felt before. The sun beamed down upon my face to give me rosy red cheeks, and the smell of a weenie roast blew through the wind. It's nice to feel like everything is normal, but these people are weak and if a herd of walkers somehow took the fence down, I don't think they would survive.

I opened the door to my house. It was smaller than the others because I preferred to live alone. I was granted my own home because I was strong enough to survive by myself. Deanna said I have earned it.

I bolted the door shut behind me and flipped on the kitchen fan. I walked to my bathroom and undressed, looking at my body. I have never been super skinny. I am skinny but I have a figure too. I drew a bath and climbed into the water, I laid back and fell asleep.

*KNOCK KNOCK*

A sudden knocking on my front door had startled me. I quickly jumped out of the bath tub and put on a robe. It was soft and my favorite color. Blue. I walked towards my door but also having a firm grip on the knife that was lying on the table. I peered through the hole to see who it was and that is when I saw Carl's sheriffs hat and then his beautiful eyes.

I opened the door with a smile. "Carl, what are you doing here." there was a smile on his face. "I.. I found this in the shed." he held out a beautiful diamond necklace that glistened in the sunlight. I cupped my hands over my mouth and my eyes began to water. "Carl, why are you giving this to me? This is special." my heart raced as I was speaking. "Because y/n you are special." he placed the necklace in my hand. "Do you want to come inside Carl?" I asked politely. "If you don't mind." he replied while fiddling with his shirt.

"I still need to finish my shower, so you could just watch tv if you woul..." and before I could finish my sentence he had already turned the tv on and began to watch my favorite show.

I climbed back into the shower and finished. I put my robe back on and went to my bedroom. I found a black T-shirt and a pair of athletic shorts and dressed myself. I entered the living room once again and sat down beside Carl. "Do you like this show?" he asked. "Yes, I used to watch each episode before the outbreak, and luckily whoever had been living here before had the series on disk." I said in a cocky tone while waving the case around. "No way, I used to love this show too." he smiled and I smiled back. I placed my head on his chest and watched our favorite together.

This show used to be my mothers favorite, and I really miss her. My eyes started to fill with tears. Carl felt a tear drop and asked what was wrong. "It's just, I miss my mother so much. No one has shown me any love since the outbreak. I've never had any friends since the outbreak." I tried to hold back the tears but they came out. Carl squeezed me tightly and kissed my forehead. "Y/n I love you, and you are my friend. Y/n would you be my girlfriend?" I could see that he was nervous but I couldn't help but smile. "Yes Carl." I glanced at his face through the corner of my eyes. He was smiling bigger than his face.
