The part of the window that we had not boarded up let in a small amount of the morning sun. Judith lie in between Carl and I sound asleep. Carl was too.

I'm used to being on the road, just not with other people. I'm glad I have someone and I'm not alone.

I watched Carl sleep. He was so beautiful, his chest moved slowly as he breathed. I don't know what I'd do if he ever stopped breathing.

I sat up slowly trying not to wake Carl or Judith and stretched my arms. I rose to my feet and walked towards the opening in the window and peered outside. The trees swayed slowly back and forth from the summer breeze and there was not a cloud in the sky.

I felt arms wrap around my waist and lips kiss my neck.

"Good morning" Carl whispered into my ear. An immediate smile appeared on my face.

"Morning" I turned my head and kissed his lips. They were soft and smooth.

"I think we should keep moving because whoever that was could be following us still." He said to me as he hugged me from behind.

"Yeah, we should probably get going."

Carl and I began to put wooden planks and tools into the car just in case we need them for another place. I picked up Judith who was still sound asleep and woke her. She fussed a little as I changed her diaper, but once I handed her some applesauce she was okay.

I got into the passenger seat with Judith on my lap and we played peek a boo for a little while.

"We need to get her a car seat and some toys. She needs more baby food and clothes. She's growing out of these, and we're low on diapers." I said to Carl as we drove down the road.

"If you see a store, let me know and we can go in." He replied.

We drove for a few hours before we came upon a Baby's R Us. It must've been our lucky day. The doors were covered well but Carl managed to get through them. We banged on the metal cash register to draw any walkers and three approached us. Carl hit one with an axe from the shed, and I stabbed another in the head. Carl stabbed the third one and we began to look for supplies.

I walked to an isle of baby food and began to fill carts with every baby food I could find. The shelves were basically untouched because most people didn't have babies during the apocalypse.

Carl came around the corner and showed me a car seat that was really expensive but hey everything's free now. He found a crib as well and put it into his cart. I grabbed clothing and toys for Judith along with every last battery the store had.

"Is this all going to fit in the car?" I asked.

"I don't know."

As we walked to the car I saw a large ford escalade.

"Look, we can see if the keys are in it." I pointed towards the vehicle.

"It'll take a lot of gas." I guess I didn't realize that.

"But we can carry more and won't have to make trips as often."

I walked to the vehicle and to our luck, the keys were in the ignition. We loaded all of our things into the new vehicle and put Judith in her new car seat.

"Where now?" I asked.

"Let's look for a farm house to maybe settle down in."

"Settle down?"

"Yeah, you and Judith deserve a home."

The words excited me and I nodded to his suggestion and off we went.
